摘要: An optical module which satisfies a required insertion loss and can be easily assembled with high productivity. The optical module includes first optical fiber, a first lens, an optical device, a second lens, and second optical fiber. The first lens receives an incident light from the first optical fiber and converts the incident light into a parallel light. The optical device receives the parallel light and performs predetermined optical processing on the parallel light. The second lens receives a transmitted parallel light from the optical device and converge the transmitted parallel light to produce an outgoing light. The second optical fiber receives the outgoing light. An optical axis of the first lens and an optical axis of the second lens are substantially coincident with each other. An optical axis of the first optical fiber and an optical axis of the second optical fiber are substantially parallel with each other and substantially parallel to the optical axes of the first and the second lenses.

摘要: A rechargeable battery pack includes a rechargeable battery having a first electrode and a second electrode; a circuit assembly disposed at one end on a side of a sealing portion of the rechargeable battery; a battery protection circuit for protecting the rechargeable battery from overcharging, the battery protection circuit arranged on a side of the circuit assembly which faces the sealing portion of the rechargeable battery; a plurality of input and output terminals arranged on another side of the circuit assembly, said input and output terminals to which said first electrode and said second electrode are respectively each connected via the battery protection circuit, thereby constituting an intermediate unit in which the rechargeable battery and the circuit assembly are integrated; and an outer case for sealing therein said intermediate unit, the outer case having openings formed at locations corresponding to the input and output terminals.

摘要: To provide a rod-like light guide and a line lighting device including the rod-like light guide, both of which are easy to include in an image reading device, a contact-type image sensor and an image reading device. For instance, a protruding portion having a flat or curved surface is formed by grinding an end face of a rod-like light guide in a longitudinal direction while leaving at least 80% of the surface area of the end face, and a reflective surface is formed by bonding a heat transfer film to the protruding portion. Thus, even if a portion of the protrusion portion melts when performing thermal processing on the heat transfer film, the portion will not jut out beyond a cross-sectional area of the rod-like light guide, and the rod-like light guide can be easily contained in a case.

摘要: An illumination device includes a casing, a bar-shaped light guide housed in the casing to expose a light-emitting surface thereof, a light-emitting unit secured to an end section of the casing, wherein light from the light-emitting unit is introduced within the light guide through an end face thereof and then totally reflected within the light guide to be emitted through the light-emitting surface, a shielding section which covers an end section of the light guide at the end section of the casing close to the light-emitting unit and is provided on the light-emitting surface side of the light guide, a notch is formed at an end of the light guide on the light-emitting surface side close to the light-emitting unit, and light from the light-emitting unit is reflected on a rear surface of the shielding section through a gap between the notch and the light-emitting unit to be introduced into the light guide.
