摘要: To support a shopper to perform self-service shopping by using an electronic shelf label (ESL) while looking at actual items displayed in a store and to expand the functions of the electronic shelf label (ESL) to enable the linkage with other data processing systems expansively. A shopper uses a mobile processing device (typically, a cell phone owned by the shopper) in a store. The functions necessary to obtain contents from the electronic shelf label (ESL) are obtained by introducing an application program into the shopper's own cell phone, by which it is expected that the shopper is able to easily enjoy shopping. When photographing the electronic shelf label (ESL), the contents associated with items are encoded (the price display automatically changes to a barcode) and then decoded.

摘要: An image of a sample print printed to obtain parameters is picked up by using “a parameter obtaining device” that meets the standards of an instrument for the invention of “the electronic scrap system.” Then, the picked-up image is captured by a DTP system, and color data of a needed position are imported to a parameter DB. Thereby, parameters for simulation to be used in an invisible code printing support system can be easily inputted. Use of this method eliminates the necessity of figuring out parameters through experiments and the like, and of inputting these parameters as numerical values. In addition, since this method uses a physical medium and inks to be actually used, as they are, their optical characteristics, an influence of a blue component of invisible light emitted from an ultraviolet LED, and the like can be inputted all together as a picked-up image. Accordingly, it becomes possible to input parameters capable of accurately reproducing actual printed conditions, and thereby to produce printed materials providing high reading accuracy.

摘要: Watermark data that indicate additional information, such as copyright information, are optimized in accordance with the contents of object data, and the watermark data is embedded in image data. An image divider 200 divides image data Vi into image blocks Iij, and corresponds a selected basic pattern Phij with each of the image blocks Iij. Orthogonal transformation units 24 and 202 generate DFT coefficients I′ij and P′hij, and power element calculators 208 and 264 generate power elements I″ij and P″ij. A basic pattern adjustment unit 26 adjusts the coefficient of P′hij to generate P′hij1 to P′hijn. A watermark pattern generator 28 calculates variations before and after P′hij1 to P′hijn are embedded in I″ij, and selects, from P′hij1 to P′hijn, P′″hij1 to P′″hij1 that provide variations equal to or smaller than the threshold value e. Then, the watermark pattern generator 28 selects, as a watermark pattern P′ij, the pattern that is most easily detectable, and a pattern embedding unit 204 that adds P′ij to I′ij.

摘要: The present invention is directed to the detection of what part of an image alteration was added to by embedding an electronic watermark in the image. More particularly, embedding part 30 renders as pairs two each of DCT blocks of luminance component Y of an image, randomly selects, by using a random number, mutually corresponding DCT coefficients from each DCT block contained in the pairs, and manipulates so that the relationship among these DCT coefficients represent data according to a certain rule, and then embeds the data. If alteration is added to this image, the DCT coefficients contained in the pairs in the altered part do not observe the above rule and represent different values from the original data. Extraction part 40 extracts data from the image, and makes decision by majority to estimate the initially embedded data to detect and display the pairs from which different data form the estimated data was extracted as those to which alteration was added.
