    摘要: A multiprimary liquid crystal display device in which deteriorations in display quality caused by the coloration of a gray representation when viewed from an oblique direction are suppressed, and a signal conversion circuit for use in such a multiprimary liquid crystal display device are provided.A signal conversion circuit according to the present invention is for use in a multiprimary liquid crystal display device, the multiprimary liquid crystal display device having a pixel defined by a plurality of subpixels including a red subpixel, a green subpixel, a blue subpixel, and a yellow subpixel, and performing multicolor display by using four or more primary colors to be displayed by the plurality of subpixels, the signal conversion circuit converting an input video signal to a multiprimary signal corresponding to four or more primary colors. When a video signal for the pixel to display a gray color having a normalized luminance of no less than 0.2 and no more than 0.3 is input, the signal conversion circuit according to the present invention performs a conversion of the video signal so that, among the normalized luminances of the plurality of subpixels, the yellow subpixel has the lowest normalized luminance.

    摘要: A multiple primary color display device which suppresses the reduction in the display quality when an input signal corresponding to green in an sRGB color space is input from outside is provided. A display device according to the present invention has a pixel defined by a plurality of sub pixels. The plurality of sub pixels include at least a red sub pixel for displaying red, a green sub pixel for displaying green, a blue sub pixel for displaying blue, and a yellow sub pixel for displaying yellow. When an input signal corresponding to green in the sRGB color space is input from outside, the display device according to the present invention provides display using the yellow sub pixel in addition to the green sub pixel.

The color filter selects a color of light passing through the color filter itself. The color filter has a color reproduction range of 0.079 or more both in a reflection area and in a transmission area. It is preferable that color filters are formed of the same color material and have almost the same thickness in a reflection area and a transmission area. That is, it is preferable that one pixel area has the same configuration in the reflection area as in the transmission area.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display device includes, from its back surface side towards its front surface side: a polarization selective reflection plate (12) which reflects x-directional linearly polarized light and transmits y-directional linearly polarized light; a first polarizing plate (4) which transmits the x-directional linearly polarized light; a liquid crystal display panel (13); and a second polarizing plate (8) which transmits the y-directional linearly polarized light. The polarization selective reflection plate (12) is arranged only on a back surface side of the liquid crystal display panel (13). The y-directional linearly polarized light incident on the back surface side is reflected from the polarization selective reflection plate (12), there by protecting privacy. The x-directional linearly polarized light transmitted reaches the front surface side, via the first polarizing plate (4), the liquid crystal display panel (13), and the second polarizing plate (8). In this way, it is possible to realize a liquid crystal display device which is capable of performing a good screen displaying even under a strong surrounding light environment.

    摘要: Disclosed are active shutter glasses and a three-dimensional image recognition unit capable of visually recognizing a three-dimensional image with excellent display quality. The active shutter glasses are active shutter glasses for three-dimensional image recognition. The active shutter glasses comprise a right temple, a left temple, a right-eye lens, and a left-eye lens. The right-eye lens and the left-eye lens comprise liquid crystal cells. The right-eye lens and the left-eye lens have an inclination with respect to a state where the right-eye lens and the left-eye lens are arranged on the same plane, and are arranged on a surface orthogonal to a horizontal surface including the top surfaces of the right temple and the left temple. The direction of inclination of the right-eye lens is the direction in which the outer edge of the right-eye lens approaches an observer side at an azimuth angle φ2 in a range of ±45° with respect to an azimuth angle φ1, at which a contrast ratio has a maximum value, at a polar angle θ1 having an angle difference in a range of 2 to 17° from a line normal to the surface of the right-eye lens when not inclined. The direction of inclination of the left-eye lens is the direction in which the outer edge of the left-eye lens approaches the observer side at an azimuth angle φ4 in a range of ±45° with respect to an azimuth angle φ3, at which a contrast ratio has a maximum value, at a polar angle θ2 having an angle difference in a range of 2 to 17° from a line normal to the surface of the left-eye lens when not inclined.
