Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are disclosed for communicating via a radio channel to reduce radio frequency (RF) interference between transceiver systems within an electronic device.
Abstract:
A wireless keyboard may be provided with a guard protocol which prevents unintended typematics. An alive signal may be periodically generated to advise a host processor-based system that the keyboard communication link is still effective. If the host processor-based system receives a key make signal but does not receive a break signal or an alive signal, the processor-based system may deduce that the link has gone inactive, and may generate its own break signal. This avoids unnecessary power consumption and unnecessary typematics.
Abstract:
The media dependent module provides an interface between an upper-level conferencing driver (e.g., a data-link manager) of the conferencing system and a lower-level communications driver of the conferencing system to isolate the conferencing driver from the communications driver, where the media dependent module is dependent upon hardware of the communications driver. The media dependent module is adapted to perform a plurality of functions called by the conferencing driver. The media dependent module has a connection state machine. In a preferred embodiment, the communications driver is a communications stack that conforms to one of the NetBIOS, IPX, POTS Modem, and TAPI transport standards. The conferencing system may have multiple media dependent modules, each of which provides an interface between the data-link manager and a communications stack that conforms to a different transport standard.
Abstract:
This disclosure describes techniques that can improve the generation of a decomposed multi-stream (DMS) by a host device of a video display system and the display of a DMS by a client device of the video display system. The techniques may apply different frame rates to different streams within a DMS, and the frame rates may depend on the content. For example, one stream within a DMS may comprise a sequence of full-motion video information, which may be rendered at a relatively high frame rate. However, another stream within the DMS may be associated with a background of the display, various graphic user interface control windows or elements, or a display window that includes non-video content (such as e-mail or a document). The second stream in the DMS may be rendered at a much slower frame rate than that used for the sequence of full-motion video information.
Abstract:
Systems and methods displaying information from a mobile device are described herein. One embodiment of this disclosure provides a method of controlling a mobile device without a native touch screen display. The mobile device is coupled to an external touch-screen device. The method comprises receiving input via a touch screen display. The method further comprises mapping the input to one or more keypad events. The method further comprises transmitting to at least one application the one or more keypad events.
Abstract:
The described apparatus and methods include a wireless local area network (WLAN) access point having a wireless wide area network (WWAN) backhaul connection to provide a gateway between a LAN and a WAN. In one example, the access point may be a cellular telephone. Here, a processor in the access point is configured to generate a plurality of master keys, such that a plurality of access terminals may each utilize a respective one of the master keys to access the LAN. Further, the processor is configured to enable control of an allocation of resources to at least one of the access terminals.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for extending header fields are disclosed. The header field may be extended without changing the current size of the header. Reserve bits may be used to indicate the use of an extended header and the extended header may be store in a variety of locations within the frame, including the frame payload or pad bits.
Abstract:
Wireless video transmissions over a MAC layer employ various techniques to improve throughput which may negatively impact latency, such as Block-ACK and data aggregation. To improve latency while continuing to improve throughput, data packets are fenced according to application layer specifications and then transmitted. For video data, Block-ACK sequences and aggregation sequences are terminated at the end of video frames or video slices. For data aggregation, a physical layer data packet concludes at the end of a video frame or slice. The application layer can indicate to the MAC layer when such packet fencing is to occur. In use with 802.11n transmission a data flag may be used by the MAC layer to facilitate fencing.
Abstract:
An exemplary wireless commutation device and method are disclosed for configuring a plurality of radio resources including a first radio resource and second radio resource in the wireless communication device. According to one aspect, the first and second radio resources are configured for spatial multiplexing according to a first communication system type. Upon receiving a request for communication over a second communication system type, at least one of the first and second radio resources are re-configured for communication over the second communication system type. According to another aspect, a first communication link over the first communication system is maintained while establishing a second communication link over the second communication system. According to another aspect, the other of the first and second radio resources for non-spatial multiplexing are re-configured according to the first communication system type.
Abstract:
A method of peer discovery in a communications network includes transmitting, by a first client station, a request to a second client station; receiving a response of the second client station, at least one of the request and the response including a local IP address of the corresponding client station; and establishing a tunneled direct link setup (TDLS)direct link between the first client station and the second client station based on the local IP address.
