    Abstract: A seat assembly is provided with a seat cushion, and a seat back. Sensors are operably connected to the seat cushion and the seat back to detect a seating position of an occupant. An actuator is operably connected to the seat cushion and the seat back for adjustment of a plurality of settings of the seat assembly. An interactive user interface permits manual adjustment of the actuator. A controller is in electrical communication with the plurality of sensors, the at least one actuator, and the user interface. The controller is configured to receive seating position data input indicative of a manually selected seating position. Detection data is received from the plurality of sensors, and compared to the manually selected seating position to determine if the occupant is seated evenly. The at least one actuator adjusts an occupant seating position to the manually selected seating position.

    Abstract: An assembly is provided with a funnel having one or more side walls extending from an entrance to an outlet, and a liner having one or more elastic panels, with the liner extending over an inner surface of the one or more side walls. A system is provided with the assembly, a die, a fluid bath, and at least one hose to direct fluid from the fluid bath onto the liner of the assembly. A method includes covering an inner surface of a funnel with a liner comprising one or more elastic panels, wetting the liner, and forming a stranded mesh material member by extruding material from a die and through the funnel. A stranded mesh material member is provided and formed using the method.

    Abstract: A support portion for a seat assembly includes, in some configurations, a first main portion and a second main portion disposed such that a gap is provided between the first main portion and the second main portion.     Abstract: A mat system and method for collecting dynamic comfort data relative to a seat occupied by an occupant, the mat system including a sensor matrix layer configured to be disposed (i) extending along at least a portion of a top surface of a seat bottom and including a first shear force sensor mounted adjacent to the top surface of the seat bottom and configured to measure a first shear force generally parallel to the top surface of the seat bottom, or (ii) extending along a portion of a forward surface of a seat back including a second shear force sensor mounted adjacent to the forward surface of the seat back and configured to measure a second shear force generally parallel to the forward surface of the seat back, or (iii) both.     Abstract: A seat assembly is provided with a translatable seat cushion, a pivotal seat back, and a head restraint adapted to be mounted for translation adjacent the seat back. An actuator is operably connected to at least one of the seat cushion and the seat back for adjustment of a plurality of settings of the seat assembly. A controller is in electrical communication with the actuator and is configured to receive input indicative of occupant anthropometry data, current physical condition and/or activity level, compare the input with predetermined data ranges, and adjust at least one of the plurality of settings of the actuator to a predetermined setting based on the predetermined range. A computer-program product is programmed for automatically adjusting a seat assembly. A method for adjusting a seat assembly receives anthropometry data for an occupant.
