Abstract: A gas furnace according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes: a mixer for mixing air and a fuel gas, which are introduced through an intake pipe and a manifold, respectively, to form a mixture; a mixing pipe through which the mixture, having passed through the mixer, flows; a burner assembly for producing a combustion gas by burning the mixture having passed through the mixing pipe; a heat exchanger through which the combustion gas flows; an exhaust pipe through which an exhaust gas, as the combustion gas having passed through the heat exchanger, is discharged outside of the gas furnace; and an inducer for inducing a flow of a fluid through the intake pipe, the mixer, the mixing pipe, the burner assembly, the heat exchanger, and the exhaust pipe. In this case, the mixer has a front end connected to the intake pipe, a rear end connected to the mixing pipe, and a side surface connected to the manifold.

Abstract: Disclosed is a gas furnace including a mixer configured to mix air and fuel gas introduced from an intake pipe and a manifold respectively so as to produce an air-fuel mixture, a mixing pipe configured to allow the air-fuel mixture having passed through the mixer to flow therein, a burner assembly configured to combust the air-fuel mixture having passed through the mixing pipe so as to generate combustion gas, heat exchangers configured to allow the combustion gas to flow therein, an exhaust pipe configured to discharge exhaust gas, which is the combustion gas having passed through the heat exchangers, to the outside. The gas furnace further includes a recirculator installed around the exhaust pipe and configured to guide a portion of the exhaust gas flowing in the exhaust pipe to the mixer, and may thus greatly reduce or fundamentally block NOx emissions.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of controlling a gas furnace that performs heating operation according to a heating signal formed of one of a weak heating signal and a strong heating signal. The method includes: (a) receiving the heating signal; (b) determining whether the heating signal is the weak heating signal or the strong heating signal; (c) calculating a certain weak heating capacity smaller than a maximum heating capacity of the gas furnace, when the heating signal is the weak heating signal; and (d) operating a weak heating of the gas furnace with the calculated certain weak heating capacity, wherein the step (c) includes calculating the weak heating capacity according to a difference between a temperature of air (hereinafter, an intake air temperature) sucked into the gas furnace and a reference temperature set based on the intake air temperature.
