Abstract: A companion device interoperating with a broadcast reception device for receiving a broadcast service, includes a communication device configured to connect the companion device with the broadcast reception device; and a controller configured to receive emergency alert information from the broadcast reception device, the emergency alert information including identifier information for the emergency alert information, category information of the emergency alert information, and priority information for the emergency alert information, wherein a value of the priority information represents one of 5 levels of priority of the emergency alert information, the 5 levels represents the priority from low priority to high priority, and in response to a change of the priority, the controller receives changed emergency alert information including changed priority information of which a value represents a level of the changed priority.

Abstract: A method of processing a broadcast signal includes physical layer processing a plurality of packets into a plurality of data pipes to form a signal frame of the broadcast signal. Further, a packet includes an emergency alert message for an emergency alert service so that a data pipe carries the emergency alert massage, the emergency alert message including a message identifier (ID) for identifying the emergency alert message and a service ID identifying a service related to the emergency alert message. The physical layer processing further includes encoding data in each data pipe; bit interleaving the encoded data in each data pipe; and time interleaving the bit interleaved data in each data pipe according to a first mode or a second mode, the first mode represents that the time interleaving is performed based on convolutional interleaving operation, the second mode represents that the time interleaving is performed based on a combination of block interleaving operation and convolutional interleaving operation; and transmitting the broadcast signal. In addition, the broadcast signal further includes physical layer signaling information, the physical layer signaling information including a signaling information representing that the data pipe carries the emergency alert message and time interleaving signaling information related to the first mode and the second mode.

Abstract: A method according to an embodiment includes encapsulating input packets into link layer packets, a link layer packet including a header and a payload, wherein the header includes first information and second information, the first information represents a packet type of data in the payload before encapsulation, the second information represents configuration of the payload, and either the second information, which represents the link layer packet carrying a single input packet, is followed by third information or the second information, which represents the link layer packet carrying more than one input packet or a segment of an input packet, is followed by fourth information; and transmitting the generated link layer packets through physical layer pipes (PLPs).

The method includes connecting to an external input source being different from a broadcaster; receiving uncompressed A/V content from the external input source being different from the broadcaster; extracting audio watermark from the uncompressed A/V content; wherein the audio watermark includes domain type information, time information and event flag; constructing a first URL based on the domain type information, the time information and the event flag included in the audio watermark; transmitting an HTTP request to a remote server based on the first URL; receiving a second URL for the supplementary content from the remote server; and presenting the supplementary content based on the second URL.
