    Abstract: A Mobility Management Entity (MME) having MSC functionality implemented therein, performs a scheme of MTC device triggering has been conceived. A PS and CS combined location update is sent to the HSS/HLR by means of piggybacking of CS domain information over an interface between the MME and the HSS/HLR as part of a “combined” EPS/IMSI attach procedure or a “combined” TA/LA update procedure. The, SMS signaling is received from an SMS-SC (GMSC/IWMSC) to transfer an SMS message for an LTE-only device or a single-mode E-UTRAN device. Here, the SMS signaling is received from the SMS-SC (GMSC/IWMSC) via an interworking function (IWF) that provides interworking between a MAP interface and a Diameter interface. As a result, M2M or MTC devices can be supported for an LTE network or the like.

    Abstract: For Inter-APN routing flow distribution, a step of receiving, by a UE from a server, an Inter-System Routing Policy (ISRP) rule that comprises flow distribution rules for at least one of a For Flow Based flow distribution container used for IP Flow Mobility (IFOM), a For Service Based flow distribution container used for Multi-Access PDN Connectivity (MAPCON), a For Non-Seamless Offload flow distribution container used for Non-Seamless WLAN Offload (NSWO), and an Inter-APN routing flow distribution container, is performed. Here, the Inter-APN routing flow distribution container comprises information related to routing IP flows with respect to a plurality of APNs for using PDN connections to access multiple IP networks. Then a step of selecting, by the UE, among active/valid flow distribution rules in the received ISRP rule, a flow distribution rule having highest priority is performed.

    Abstract: A Mobility Management Entity (MME) comprises at least one entity or layer having Mobile Switching Center (MSC) functionality to support a Short Messaging Service (SMS) between a network and a mobile station by employing Machine-to-Machine (M2M) or Machine Type Communication (MTC) protocols. A first state machine entity or layer that supports relay functions to perform forwarding of SMS messages to the mobile station. A second state machine entity or layer that supports connection functions with at least an HSS/HLR (Home Subscriber Server/Home Location Register), and with an SMS-SC (Short Messaging Service -Service Center) or GMSC/IWMSC (Gateway MSC/Interworking MSC).
