    Abstract: A method of provisioning UE Route Selection Policy (URSP) rules received from a non-subscribed Stand-alone Non-public Network (SNPN) registered using credentials from a credentials holder (CH) is provided. After a UE register to the non-subscribed SNPN using credentials from the CH, the UE may establish a PDU session for accessing services n the SNPN. Prior to establishing the PDU session, the UE checks the corresponding URSP rules that can be used in the SNPN. If the UE is signaled with URSP rules by the registered non-subscribed. SNPN, UE should store the URSP rules and then apply those URSP rules for PDU session establishment when the UE access the services in the non-subscribed SNPN.

    Abstract: A method for handling a PDU session release command for releasing an MA PDU session with a PDN connection established as user-plane resource on 3GPP access is proposed. For an MA PDU session with both EPS/4G 3GPP leg and 5GS non-3GPP leg, if UE/NW wants to release the MA PDU session, UE/NW needs to initiate two procedures. First/Second, to release the EPS 3GPP leg, UE/NW should initiate a PDN disconnect procedure/deactivate EPS bearer context procedure or a detach procedure. Second/First, to release the 5GS non-3GPP leg, UE/NW should initiate a PDU session release procedure. The UE/NW can also initiate two procedures simultaneously. It is also possible that the UE initiates one procedure and the NW initiates the other procedure.

    Abstract: A method of handling multi-access (MA) Protocol data unit (PDU) session handover is proposed. A UE and network can support Access Traffic Steering Switching and Splitting (ATSSS) functionalities to distribute traffic over 3GPP access and non-3GPP access for the established MA PDU session. An ATSSS-Supported UE first establishes a MA PDU Session on both 3GPP and non-3GPP access in a currently registered PLMN which is an ATSSS-Supported network. The UE then moves from the ATSSS-Supported network to an ATSSS-not-Supported network and finally reaches another ATSSS-Supported network. In one novel aspect, a solution is provided on how to handle the ongoing MA PDU Session with two accesses under handover scenarios between ATSSS-Supported and ATSSS-not-Supported networks. Furthermore, if the ongoing MA PDU Session cannot handover, a solution is provided on how to handle the MA PDU Session.

    Abstract: A method of handling authentication reject upon accessing an SNPN using credentials from a credential holder is proposed. A UE is configured with a “list of subscriber data”. The UE selects an SNPN using the configured list of subscriber data, e.g., based on the SNPN selection parameters contained in a selected entry of the list of subscriber data. Based on the selected entry, the UE selects an SNPN, and then tries to access the selected SNPN using credentials supplied by a subscribed SNPN. When UE receives an authentication reject message from the network, UE considers that the selected entry of the list of subscriber data is invalid. However, other entries related to the current selected SNPN are still valid. UE is still able to access the current selected SNPN, using credentials supplied in another entry of the list of subscriber data.

    Abstract: A method of backoff timer handling for accessing a hosting network for localized services is proposed. When a UE receives a NAS message from an NPN hosting network with a backoff timer, the UE needs to determine whether it can register to the NPN as a hosting network for localized services while the backoff timer is running. The UE checks the validity information associated with the NPN, e.g., an SNPN/GIN/CAG, and determines whether the UE is still authorized to access the NPN upon/after backoff timer expiry. In one example, if the current time+the remaining length/duration of the backoff timer is longer than the end of the validity time of the NPN, then the UE triggers the network selection (SNPN selection or PLMN selection) and registers to another PLMN, PNI-NPN/CAG or SNPN for access for localized services, or just for normal services (non-localized services).

    Abstract: A method of handling updated CAG related configuration is proposed. UE receives an updated CAG related configuration in a DL NAS message via a CAG cell, which broadcasts a list of supported CAG-IDs of the current network. UE may also receive an updated CAG related configuration in a DL NAS message via a non-CAG cell of the current network. The UE examines the list of allowed CAG-IDs in the updated CAG related configuration, determines whether they are supported by the CAG cell, whether they are associated with validity information, whether the validity criteria are met, whether the UE is ONLY allowed to access 5GS via CAG cells, and whether the UE has any emergency PDU session. Depending on the determination, the UE then either enters LIMITED-SERVICE and search for suitable cell in the current network, or enters PLMN-SEARCH state and applies PLMN selection process.

    Abstract: A method for evaluation of UE route selection policy (URSP) rules is proposed. URSP is used by a UE to determine if a detected application can be associated to an established PDU session, can be offloaded to non-3GPP access outside a PDU session, or can trigger the establishment of a new PDU session. The UE first finds a non-default URSP rule with a matching traffic descriptor to the application. Then, the UE selects a route selection descriptor including a preferred access type from a list of RSDs of the non-default URSP rule. After that, the UE matches or establishes a Protocol Data Unit (PDU) session for the application by ignoring the preferred access type or using the preferred access type.
