Abstract: A mobile communication device including a wireless transceiver and a controller is provided. The wireless transceiver performs wireless transmission and reception to and from a service network. The controller operates in a connected mode with a connection to the service network, and determines whether there is no active data traffic in a first period of time when operating in the connected mode. In response to there being no active data traffic in the first period of time, the controller performs a local release of the connection or sends a measurement report to trigger the service network to release the connection.

Abstract: A mobile communication device for avoiding location exposure in a User Equipment (UE) information procedure includes a wireless transceiver configured to perform wireless transmission and reception to and from a service network. The device further includes a controller, configured to determine whether a Radio Resource Control (RRC) security has been activated between the mobile communication device and the service network, and in response to the RRC security not having been activated, does not send a measurement report to the service network via the wireless transceiver after receiving measurement configuration message, wherein the controller is further configured to send the measurement report after the RRC security has been activated.

Abstract: A communications apparatus includes a radio transceiver and a processor. The radio transceiver is configured for transmitting or receiving wireless radio frequency signals to or from a peer device. The processor determines whether re-synchronization in a communication mode with the peer device is required according to a determination rule. When the re-synchronization is required, the processor transmits a message to the peer device via the radio transceiver to trigger a re-synchronization procedure. The processor determines whether the re-synchronization is required in a connected mode.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide a method for setting up a call for a user equipment. The method includes receiving, by the user equipment, a measurement configuration message that specifies a set of measurement events corresponding to poor signal quality between the user equipment and a packet-switched network, and sending, by the user equipment, a measurement report when one of the set of measurement events occurs while performing a first call setup process for setting up the call using the packet-switched network. The method also includes terminating the first call setup process after sending the measurement report that indicates poor signal quality between the user equipment and the packet-switched network, and sending, by the user equipment, a service request to begin a second call setup process for setting up the call for the user equipment using a circuit-switched network after terminating the first call setup process.

Abstract: Concepts and examples pertaining to mitigation of coexistence interference and concurrent operations of different RF technologies are described. A processor of a network node receives a message from a user equipment (UE) using a first radio access technology (RAT). The message includes one or more information fields indicating one or more of following pieces of information regarding in-device coexistence interference experienced by the UE: an affected carrier and a range of each of one or more other RATs different from the first RAT including at least a second RAT, a suggested transmit or receive power of the UE in a first communication cell of the first RAT, and a suggested receive power of the UE in a second communication cell of the second RAT. In response to receiving the message, the processor adjusts one or more aspects of either or both of the first and the second communication cells.
