Abstract: An artificial-reality headset comprises a first lens assembly coupled with a first shape guide, and a second lens assembly coupled with a second shape guide. The artificial-reality headset comprises an interpupillary-distance (IPD) adjustment system that moves one or both of the first lens assembly and the second lens assembly to produce a first IPD between the first lens assembly and the second lens assembly, and a second IPD between the first lens assembly and the second lens assembly. A membrane is included, and the membrane is in contact with the first and second shape guides such that: when the first IPD is produced between the first lens assembly and the second lens assembly, a number of creases in the portions of the membrane is a first number, and when the second IPD is produced between the first lens assembly and the second lens assembly, no new creases are introduced.

Abstract: Head-mounted display assemblies may include a first eyecup and a second eyecup that are configured for respectively positioning a first lens and a second lens in front of intended locations of a user's eyes when the head-mounted display assembly is donned. The first eyecup and the second eyecup may be movable relative to each other to adjust for an interpupillary distance of the user's eyes. Abstract: A light-blocker apparatus may include a support element dimensioned to fit a contour of an eyecup of a head-mounted display. Additionally, the light-blocker apparatus may include an attachment feature, defined at a base of the support element, that connects the support element to the eyecup such that, when the support element is attached to the eyecup, the support element moves in conjunction with the eyecup. The light-blocker apparatus may also include an interface extending from the support element and may be dimensioned to interface with an eye area of a user's face to reduce light entering the eyecup from outside of the head-mounted display when worn by a user.
