摘要： A storage controller and associated disk or disk portion where after the controller terminates its access to said disk or disk portion, data integrity problems in the disk or disk portion can be detected. Before host data associated with a write command is written from the cache memory to the disk or disk portion, an identity of the storage controller as a current user of the disk or disk portion and indication that the controller is operating in a mode it stores data in a cache is recorded on the disk or disk portion. If the storage controller is shut down abnormally, the record of the identity of the controller and the indication are not cleared. The storage controller is restarted or rebooted and the record is read to learn that the controller was using the disk or disk portion and operating in the foregoing mode before the shutdown.

摘要： A method for generating a numeric or alpha-numeric identifier representative of a chemical structure having at least two atoms connected by a bond includes the step of assigning a numerical value to each atom and a numerical bond value to each bond. The method updates the numerical values for each atom based on the current values assigned to each atom and the numerical bond value. After the numerical values for each atom have been updated the method calculates a numeric or alpha-numeric identifier for the chemical structure.

摘要： A solid-state electricity meter uses a sensor to measure a current supplied to a load. In one aspect, the electricity meter housing includes a meter base, a register cover, and a meter cover. The meter base includes a plurality of meter cover lock notches disposed about a periphery of the meter base. The register cover includes a plurality of secure ramps disposed on a base portion thereof, each secure ramp having a ramped portion along one side and a land portion. The meter cover includes a plurality of locking tabs corresponding to the meter cover lock notches and further includes a plurality of meter cover locks corresponding to the secure ramps. Upon insertion of the meter cover locking tabs into the meter base lock notches and rotation of the meter cover in a predetermined clockwise or counterclockwise direction, the meter cover locks engage the corresponding secure ramps, thereby biasing the meter cover locking tabs against the backside of the meter base to provide a secure connection.

摘要： A motion detection device for use as a monitor for patient movement, inclng a sensor for generating motion signals, an integrator for integrating the motion signals over a period of time, and a threshold level of signals generating an alarm signal upon exceeding a predetermined minimum value of the motion signals to activate an alarm. The sensor includes an edge detector for providing a motion sensed outpost of a series of sharp voltage rises and falls to generate a sequence of voltage pulses of predetermined magnitude and time duration which generate an alarm signal if the pulses are generated faster than a preset rate of voltage decay based upon a preselected minimum movement to be sensed. The preferred intermittent switch comprises a conductive rolling sphere in a cylindrical chamber having a conductive wall with one electrical pole and end plates electrically insulated from the conductive wall and having the other electrical pole such that movement of the element caused by movement of the cylinder will generate intermittent electrical contact between one end plate and the cylinder wall. The device preferably further includes a transmitter producing a transmitted radio signal upon receipt of the alarm signal, the radio signal being receivable by a conventional radio.

摘要： A customer inquiry unit that allows the recognition of human speech in the presence of an initial prerecorded message transmitted by the customer inquiry unit via a telephone network. The customer inquiry system is designed to be utilized to respond to inquiries received via the telephone network. The system functions by responding to a telephone call received via the network to transmit an initial speech message to the customer. Due to a variety of network problems, a portion of the speech energy of the message is reflected back to the inquiry system. This reflected energy is commonly referred to as an echo. If the customer starts to speak before the inquiry system has finished the initial message, the system utilizes an echo canceler to remove the echo received back from the telephone network and only transfers the speech response to a recognition subsystem. The echo canceler adapts to the telephone network during the initial portion of the initial speech message before the customer can respond.

摘要： A hay rake having a central main frame member with left and right extendable spinner arms so that they swing toward and away from the main frame from a closed position for transportation to an open position for raking hay. Each spinner arm comprises at least one spinner disposed on its outer surface. Each spinner arm is attached to the main frame using a spinner arm knuckle-like joint which allows the spinner arm assemblies to move in both a horizontal and a vertical plane. Hay deflectors are attached under each spinner arm in front of the spinners to prevent wrapping of hay around rotating parts and to assist in moving tile hay toward the entrance of the baler.

摘要： Gas analyzer systems and methods for measuring concentrations of gases and in particular dry mole fraction of components of a gas. The systems and methods allow for rapid measurement of the gas density and/or dry mole fraction of gases for a number of environmental monitoring applications, including high speed flux measurements. A novel coupling design allows for tool-free removal of a cell enclosing a flow path to enable infield cleaning of optical components and to enable re-configuration between open- and closed-path analyzer configurations. In closed path configurations, the sample flow path is thermally isolated from the remainder of the gas analyzer to provide more accurate temperature measurements. Composite plastic/metal sample cells are presented with achieve this thermal isolation without compromising analyzer performance.
