    摘要: A washing machine has a partial washing apparatus fitted on an outer surface of a main unit having a washing tub housed therein. The partial washing apparatus is movable between an use position and a non-use position. When the partial washing apparatus is in the use position, its washing portion faces a laundry entrance from outside the main unit; when the partial washing apparatus is in the non-use position, its washing portion is retracted from the position in which it faces the laundry entrance. The washing portion achieves washing by using supersonic waves generated by a supersonic vibration device. The laundry entrance is covered with a lid composed of a front lid and a rear lid coupled together so as to be foldable in two. The rear lid has a gate opening formed therein to let the partial washing apparatus pass through. The gate opening is partially or completely closed by a tray for sustaining a piece of laundry. The tray has a drain outlet formed in its bottom surface, and the drain outlet is open toward or communicates with a drain path leading to outside the washing machine. When the partial washing apparatus is in the non-use position, the tray rotates together with the rear lid.

    摘要: A fiber of sea-islands phase separation wherein the sea component comprises a vinyl alcohol based polymer with high orientation and great crystallinity and the islands component comprises a water-insoluble cellulose based polymer with excellent absorptivity of alkaline solutions, thermal resistance and heat fusion resistance, and wherein the size of the islands is 0.03 to 10 .mu.m and the strength is 3 g/d or more, is readily disintegrated into a fibril of a diameter of 0.05 to 8 .mu.m when a mechanical stress is imposed onto the fiber wet in water.From the fibril with good hydrophilicity, high strength, great particle captivity and excellent reinforcing performance, and additionally with good absorptivity of alkaline solutions and great thermal resistance and heat fusion resistance, none of the fiber components therein is solubilized during fibrillation. Neither a beating process nor a beating solution causes foaming or environmental pollution.The fibril is extremely useful for use in separator sheets for alkaline batteries, reinforcing fibers of cement slate plates, reinforcing fibers of frictional materials and the like.

    摘要: A system for discriminating degradation of an exhaust purification system of an internal combustion engine having an adsorbent installed at a bypass exhaust gas passage branched from an exhaust pipe of the engine, which is opened by a switch-over valve at starting of the engine to introduce the exhaust gas such that the adsorbent adsorbs unburned HC in exhaust gas generated by the engine and is closed such that the adsorbent desorbs the adsorbed HC and the desorbed HC is thereafter recirculated at a position upstream of a catalyst. Based on the fact, due to the adsorption effect, the HC concentration at a downstream point is lower than that at an upstream point, in the system, the concentration of the HC introduced in the bypass exhaust gas passage in the adsorption mode is detected and compared with a threshold value and the degradation of the adsorbent is discriminated, thereby enabling to improve the discrimination accurately.
