摘要: An automated method of managing or constructing a portfolio comprising at least one financial instrument defining portfolio attributes, the method using a system comprising a processor, a display and an input device. The method comprises defining at least one objective representing a desired state for the portfolio attributes and defining a set of constraints that are defined in relation to a computable, desired state of portfolio attributes in relation to the at least one objective. A constraints analysis module based upon the set of constraints is generated and provided to the processor. The portfolio is evaluated with the processor using the constraints analysis module and the state of the portfolio attributes based upon the evaluation is displayed. At least one option for altering portfolio attributes in order to more effectively meet the at least one objective is simultaneously displayed. The option is displayed with an interactive user input mechanism that allows for selection of an option and automatic evaluation and display of the state of the portfolio attributes due to selection of the option.

摘要: A defibrillator having a pair of electrodes for delivering an impedance-compensated defibrillation shock and a method thereof is provided. The defibrillator can be deployed rapidly and effectively with no or minimal clothing and hair removal. To achieve this, one electrode is coupled to a neck region of the patient, whereas the other electrode is coupled to the patient's body. Both attachment areas are easily accessible to the rescuer, thus allowing a minimally trained user to easily deploy the defibrillator to treat the patient. A wide range of energy levels that are safe for the patient can be generated selectively based on the patient impedance. The presence of voids in the electrodes decrease the effective shock impedance of the electrodes, thus allowing the defibrillator to operate at a lower level of energy when delivering the electrical pulse to the victim's heart.

摘要: A method, system and type of database for transmitting data is disclosed in which the data is organized into a structured linear database. The structured linear database includes a routing header portion, a file allocation table, a data portion and a tailbit portion. The structured linear database may be transmitted over any type of network, such as a TM-UWB system or a fiber-optic system. Once the data to be transmitted is identified, a corresponding field is identified in the field allocation table giving the location of the data within the transmission. This field is then referenced by the user to access the specific type of data desired at the given location of the transmission. this process may be repeated enabling data to be stored on transmission lines and accessed at any point at any time providing an always on network.

摘要: A compact, electrodeless, microwave-powered lamp (e.g., ultraviolet light emitting lamp) is provided, as well as methods of using this lamp. The lamp includes a microwave generator, waveguide and RF cavity. The RF slot between the waveguide and RF cavity, for introducing microwaves from the waveguide into the RF cavity, extends through an end member forming the RF cavity rather than through the elliptical-shaped reflector; and the RF slot is aligned with the bulb. Cooling air for cooling the bulb passes through the RF slot, and preferably this cooling air passes by both the bulb and microwave generator for cooling both. The bulb is rotated during use. The compact size of the lamp facilitates its use in small devices, such as inkjet printers for office use to cure ultraviolet light curable inkjet inks, among other uses.

摘要: A defibrillator having a pair of electrodes for delivering an artifact-compensated defibrillation shock and a method thereof is provided. The defibrillator can be deployed rapidly while administering a cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the patient. Upon detection of an end of the CPR operation, a correlation signal indicative of signal corruption is detected and analyzed rapidly to determine an appropriate energy level discharged across the pair of electrodes. Thereafter, a notification signal is sent to the user of the defibrillator prior to delivering the defibrillation shock to the patient. The artifact-compensated defibrillation shock is delivered if for a predetermined period of time no movements is detected.

摘要: Systems and methods of monitoring a subject's neurological condition are provided. In some embodiments, the method includes the steps of analyzing a physiological signal (such as an EEG) from a subject to determine if the subject is in a contra-ictal condition; and if the subject is in a contra-ictal condition, providing an indication (e.g., to the subject and/or to a caregiver) that the subject is in the contra-ictal condition. The systems and methods may utilize a minimally invasive, leadless device to monitor the subject's condition. In some embodiments, if the subject is in a pro-ictal condition, the method includes the step of providing an indication (such as a red light) that the subject is in the pro-ictal condition.

摘要: An automated external defibrillator (AED) with an improved rescue protocol is described which follows a “shock first” or a “CPR first” rescue protocol after identification of a treatable arrhythmia, depending upon an estimate of the probability of successful resuscitation made from an analysis of a patient parameter measured at the beginning of the rescue.
