摘要: Methods of classifying a subject's condition are described. The method includes: receiving measured signals from the subject; processing the measured signals using a computing device to identify a class associated with an identified condition of the subject; introducing an artificial class, the artificial class being associated with an unknown condition of the subject; classifying a feature vector from the subject into the identified class or the artificial class; and generating a signal in response to classifying the feature vector. The measured signals from the subject may include at least one signal extracted from brain activity of the subject.

摘要: A mobile device comprises a housing including a bottom section and a top section slidably connected to the bottom section so as to be movable relative to the bottom section between closed and open positions. A speaker disposed within the bottom section of the housing. An acoustic port extends from the speaker in the bottom section of the housing and through the top section of the housing to project sound produced by the speaker toward the front of the mobile device.

摘要: Systems and methods of monitoring a subject's neurological condition are provided. In some embodiments, the method includes the steps of analyzing a physiological signal (such as an EEG) from a subject to determine if the subject is in a contra-ictal condition; and if the subject is in a contra-ictal condition, providing an indication (e.g., to the subject and/or to a caregiver) that the subject is in the contra-ictal condition. The systems and methods may utilize a minimally invasive, leadless device to monitor the subject's condition. In some embodiments, if the subject is in a pro-ictal condition, the method includes the step of providing an indication (such as a red light) that the subject is in the pro-ictal condition.

摘要: An automated external defibrillator (AED) is described which spends an increased proportion of a rescue in a CPR mode. This is accomplished by use of a single shock protocol which causes the AED to spend less time in shock analysis and delivery activities as compared with the typical multiple shock protocol. An AED of the present invention preferably is configured at the factory with a single shock protocol as the default rescue protocol. The rescue protocol can be modified or changed easily without the need to remove the battery or use specialized hardware or software. Preferably the shock waveform of the single shock is a biphasic waveform delivering at least 175 Joules of energy and more preferably at least 200 Joules of energy.

摘要: A method for data interchange includes summing up data associated with an electronic document to provide summed up data, representing the summed up data as one or more bar codes, and returning the one or more bar codes for display and data capture via a bar code scan from either a video display or a printed version of the one or more bar codes. The electronic document may be of any number of formats. The summing up may include taking data from multiple information fields to create the summed up data. The data may include data tags or a step of adding data tags to the data to assist in data interchange may be performed.

摘要: A defibrillator having a pair of electrodes for delivering an artifact-compensated defibrillation shock and a method thereof is provided. The defibrillator can be deployed rapidly while administering a cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the patient. Upon detection of an end of the CPR operation, a correlation signal indicative of signal corruption is detected and analyzed rapidly to determine an appropriate energy level discharged across the pair of electrodes. Thereafter, a notification signal is sent to the user of the defibrillator prior to delivering the defibrillation shock to the patient. The artifact-compensated defibrillation shock is delivered if for a predetermined period of time no movements is detected.
