摘要: Methods and apparatus identify downhole equipment and correlate input data with the equipment to improve planning and/or inventory operations. For some embodiments, oilfield equipment or tubular goods such as drill pipe include a shaped recess along an outer circumference for receiving a tag cartridge by shrink fitting. Once tagged, detector system configurations at pipe yards may facilitate logging the presence and location of each drill pipe and correlating specific data, such as inspection data, to each drill pipe. Further, this correlation populates a database utilized to achieve other business functions such as forecasting number of additional drill pipe needed to purchase, invoicing customers according to actual tracked wear/use of the drill pipe being returned, and providing well or job specific drill string population using known history pipe joints.

摘要: Generally described, the invention provides for an indicia that is associated with a pick up notice left at a pick up location. This indicia is “linked” to the parcel(s) that were intended for pick up at the location, which may be done by a handheld portable data acquisition device that includes a scanning or reading means, allowing information to be acquired from the pick up notice as well as from the parcels, and stored on the handheld portable data acquisition device. Parcel's that do not comply with a carrier's business rules are left at the business location, along with the pick up notice. The indicia is then used to access information about the parcels that were left behind and arrange for re-pick up or alternate pick up instructions, including canceling pick up. The indicia may also be used to track parcels that were picked up as well as to make alternate delivery arrangements for the picked up parcels.

摘要: A system and method for analog-to-digital conversion using digital pulse width modulation (PWM) is disclosed. The method and system according to the disclosed invention converts an analog input signal to a digital signal in pulse code modulated (PCM) form. The disclosed invention uses a feedback circuit to perform PWM of the analog input signal. The PWM signal is then decimated to obtain the digital signal in PCM form. The system according to the disclosed invention requires lower operating frequency and dissipates lesser power than prior art systems providing the same sampling frequency and resolution. The operation at a lower frequency is achieved by obtaining two samples from every pulse of the PWM signal; the first sample being obtained from the right duty ratio, and the second sample being obtained form the left duty ratio. Further, the disclosed invention has lesser implementation complexity and higher signal-to-noise ratio than prior art.

摘要: A method for accurately estimating a pose of the human head in natural scenes utilizing positions of the prominent facial features relative to the position of the head. A high-dimensional, randomly sparse representation of a human face, using a simplified facial feature model transforms a raw face image into sets of vectors representing the fits of the face to a random, sparse set of model configurations. The transformation collects salient features of the face image which are useful to estimate the pose, while suppressing irrelevant variations of face appearance. The relation between the sparse representation of the pose is learned using Support Vector Regression (SVR). The sparse representation, combined with the SVR learning is then used to estimate a pose of facial images.
