A first aspiration level, supplied by a first pump, may be applied to the probe simultaneously with ultrasonic energy. A second aspiration level, supplied by a second pump, may be automatically switched from the first aspiration level. Control feed back of the pumps may be varied according to set thresholds.

The apparatus includes a control module, a variable gas pressure regulator arrangement configured to receive gas from a gas pressure supply, wherein the variable pressure regulator arrangement is connected to the control module and the control module is configured to regulate gas received from the gas pressure supply, and an accumulator configured to store gas received from the variable gas regulator arrangement at a selected gas pressure. Gas at the desired pressure is delivered from the accumulator to the cutting device. The gas may be air, and the variable gas pressure arrangement may include a single variable pressure regulator or multiple pressure regulators which typically are not variable with respect to the pressure delivered.

A buck converter has a driver circuit with a drive transformer that provides complementary voltages to the buck converter switches. The drive transformer may have two secondary windings, with one winding for each converter switch. As one converter switch experiences a rising gate voltage, the other converter switch experiences a falling gate voltage. Since both converter switches are controlled by the same driver switches, the converter switch dead time is very small. Preferably, at least one converter switch has a voltage shift circuit connected to the gate electrode. Adjustment of the voltage shift magnitude will advance or delay the turn on and turn off times of the switch. Hence, the converter switch dead time can be precisely adjusted by varying the voltage shift magnitude. Preferably, the converter switch dead time is less than 1 or 2 nanoseconds.

Common mode (CM) noise is substantially canceled in a switching power supply circuit such as a boost converter by providing a split inductor and analyzing the switching power supply circuit as a bridge circuit formed of the switch, portions of the split inductor and parasitic capacitances of respective portions of the power supply circuit. The bridge can then be balanced by addition of capacitance in parallel with the parasitic capacitance of a respective portion of the power supply circuit or dividing the split inductor such that a ratio of inductances of respective portions of the split inductor approximates a ratio of parasitic capacitances of the respective power supply circuit portions which may be measured or otherwise empirically determined. CM noise reduction of up to 40 db can be achieved without symmetric circuit design, addition of circuit elements or complex filtering having added cost, space requirements and power losses. Further, such a reduction in common mode noise allows simple EMI filtering arrangements to be employed further reducing cost and space requirements for the power supply circuit.

In the process of bending formation of the metal hood, the two L-shaped extension portions are exactly formed into vertically downward ground terminals of the metal hood. As the ground terminal of the housing is located at the rear plate portion of the metal hood, the method of feed-strap of plating can be employed in the process of selective plating, hence, avoiding color change of the housing as a result of proximity to a hear source.

The design comprises providing an exclusive Bluetooth connection between at least two wireless devices. A master wireless device is configured with Bluetooth master device functionality and a slave wireless device is configured with Bluetooth slave device functionality. The wireless devices are employed in performing a medical procedure. The method further comprises acquiring a stored unique address from the slave wireless device over the Bluetooth connection, comparing the stored unique address to a master wireless device unique address available at the master wireless device, and exclusively pairing the master wireless device and the slave wireless device when the unique address acquired from the slave wireless device is found to identically match the master wireless device unique address.
