摘要: An abnormality detection system for highly precise detection of an abnormality in a laser treatment device includes a laser transmission tube coupled with a laser treatment unit, oscillating laser light, a discharge-side water pressure sensor, and a water pressure detection liquid surface level meter detecting a change in a pressure of cooling water flowing through forward-direction and a backward-direction spaces in the laser transmission tube. The laser transmission tube includes a hollow wavelength path having a lightguide space formed in a longitudinal direction, and an outer case enclosing an outer circumferential surface of the hollow waveguide path and extending in the longitudinal direction. The discharge-side water pressure sensor and the water pressure detection liquid surface level meter detect the change in the pressure of the cooling water flowing through in a forward-direction space and a backward-direction space to detect any abnormality.

摘要: Various methods, systems, and devices for treating tissue ablation are disclosed. Some embodiments disclosed herein pertain to methods of treating tumors, systems used for irradiating tissue and tumors with electromagnetic radiation, components and devices of that system, and kits for providing systems used for irradiating tissue and tumors with electromagnetic radiation. In some embodiments, the system provides sub-ablative infrared radiation that is absorbed by nanoparticles. In some embodiments, the nanoparticles absorb the radiation converting it into heat energy. In some embodiments, though the infrared radiation itself may be sub-ablative, the heat energy generated by the nanoparticles is sufficient to cause thermal coagulation, hyperthermia, and/or tissue ablation.

摘要: A system for curative RFA treatment of a treatment volume including at least a part of a cancer tumor by applying RF energy between an electrode arranged on an uninsulated ablating portion of an RF probe and another electrode is provided. The system includes: a control arrangement; an RF probe, including an uninsulated ablating portion; a temperature measuring arrangement, arranged to measure an RF probe temperature and provide estimations of the treatment volume temperature to the control arrangement; a cooling arrangement, controlled by the control arrangement to cool the RF probe; and an RF generating arrangement, controlled by the control arrangement to, based on the estimated treatment volume temperature, supply the amount of RF energy to the RF probe that is needed for a desired treatment volume temperature to be maintained. The control arrangement monitors the RF energy supplied by the RF generating arrangement to the RF probe, and turns off the RF generating arrangement when there is no longer any substantial lowering of the output power.

摘要: This invention relates generally to apparatus and methods for tightening tissue of the female genitalia by heating targeted connective tissue with radiant energy, while cooling the mucosal epithelial surface over the target tissue to protect it from the heat. Embodiments include a treatment tip that comprises both an energy delivery element and a cooling mechanism. As the treatment tip contacts the epithelial mucosa, the tip cools the mucosa by contact, and delivers energy through the epithelium to the underlying tissue, thereby creating a reverse thermal gradient. The effect of the applied heat is to remodel genital tissue by tightening it. Such remodeling may include a tighter vagina and a tighter introitus. The tightening may be a consequence of thermal denaturation of collagen as well as a longer term healing response in the tissue that includes an increased deposition of collagen.
