    Abstract: A system (1) is disclosed in which a network entity determines whether a radio bearer should be maintained or released for a communications device (2). The communications device (2) establishes the radio bearer via a base station (5) of the communications system (1) and communicates data using the established radio bearer. The communications device (2) determines whether any further data is to be sent or received and/or whether a user-plane connection is required. The communications device (2) then provides information to the network entity identifying a result of said determination for use in determining whether the radio bearer should be maintained or released.

    Abstract: A wireless terminal can communicate with a first network of first type and a second network of second different type. The wireless terminal performs a packet-domain attachment to the first network and initiates a ready timer indicating that the wireless terminal is in an attached state and has recently sent data to the first network. The wireless terminal initiates an inter-system change from the first network to the second network whereby the wireless terminal becomes registered to the second network. Advantageously the wireless terminal has means for rendering the ready timer ineffective when the inter-system change is performed. The network apparatus has means for initiating its own ready timer dependent on the attachment occurring, this ready timer also indicating that the wireless terminal is in an attached state and has recently sent data to the first network.

    Abstract: The present document proposes enablers for multiple user identities per UE. It defines user identity profiles for the users sharing the same UE and it allows for these user identity profiles to be provisioned in the UE's subscription information. The proposal enables multi user UEs to register at the same time for one or more users that are sharing the UE with optional extra user-specific authentication and authorisation. When registered, such a multi user UE can initiate per user PDU Session establishment and also can be paged for per user (one or more users) mobile terminated services.

    Abstract: The present disclosure proposes combined registration for mobile terminals with multiple SIM subscription from the same PLMN. The UE COTEXT RELEASE REQUEST message includes information indicating detection of the failure of the gNB-CU-UP apparatus and information indicating that Radio Resource control (RRC) connection with a User Equipment (UE) needs to be re-established. The method includes receiving a UE CONTEXT RELEASE COMMAND message from the gNB-CU-CP apparatus. The method includes sending a RRC Release message to the UE.

    Abstract: An AMF apparatus (3) receives a NAS message for requesting a core network to establish or activate a PDU session associated with an allowed network slice identifier, from a UE (4), via a first cell (10) not supporting the allowed network slice identifier and via a first AN node (1) that provides the first cell (10). In response to receiving the NAS message, the AMF apparatus (3) sends to the first AN node (1) a control message that causes the first AN node (1) to move the UE (4) to a second cell (20) that supports the allowed network slice identifier. This can contribute, for example, to enabling an establishment or activation of a PDU session associated with a network slice that is supported only in sparsely (or patchily) placed local cells.
