Abstract: A user equipment that supports a first set of beams accumulates transmit power control (TPC) commands to generate an accumulated correction factor during communication between the user equipment and a base station that supports a second set of beams. The user equipment is configured to use a first subset of the first set of beams during the communication and the base station is configured to use a second subset of the second set of beams during the communication. The user equipment detects a change in the first subset or the second subset. The user equipment resets the accumulated correction factor in response to detecting the change. In some cases, the user equipment generates a plurality of correction factors for a corresponding plurality of closed-loop processes. The user equipment resets some or all of the plurality of correction factors in response to detecting the change.

Abstract: Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products of preamble sequence management for contention based access are provided. One method may include a user equipment sending a contention based access (CBA) request message, such as a random access procedure (RACH) message, to a network node (e.g., a base station or eNB). The CBA request message may include an indication that the user equipment wants to obtain a preamble for CBA data transmission and is not for full network access. The method may then include receiving an allocation of a preamble for CBA from the network node.

Abstract: Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) resource utilization scalability are provided. One method may include configuring the number of physical resource blocks (PRBs) allocated for NOMA usage in a cell-specific manner. At least a parameter may be configured and used in determining the number of PRBs allocated for the NOMA. The parameter may refer to at least one of a spreading factor for a spreading based NOMA scheme, or to a repetition number for an interleaver/scrambling based NOMA scheme. The method may also include defining at least one mapping pattern to indicate a mapping of user data to the physical resource blocks.

Abstract: A method is provided including transmitting a reference signal on a downlink beam to a UE; receiving from the UE a reference signal sequence; determining from the received reference signal sequence at least a preferred uplink beam to pair with the downlink beam; sending downlink signaling to the UE on at least the downlink beam; and receiving uplink signaling from the UE on at least the preferred uplink beam. Abstract: A radio network sends downlink signaling to a user equipment (UE) that triggers an enhanced uplink beam selection protocol, based on quality of the UE's uplink signaling the network receives according to a basic uplink beam selection protocol. In response the UE transmits pre-defined signaling such as uplink beam references signals (U-BRS) with uplink beams according to the downlink signaling. The network measures and selects one or more of those uplink beams for the UE to use for sending uplink data, and notifies this selection to the UE. In various embodiments the basic uplink beam selection protocol is based on uplink-downlink reciprocity, the downlink triggering signaling is dynamic and further selects a subset of uplink beams, and multiple UEs can be triggered in common signaling where blind decoding by the UEs is enabled via a scrambling ID for this enhanced uplink beam selection protocol purpose.

Abstract: Various communication systems may benefit from an improved transmission of a sounding reference signal. For example, certain communication systems may benefit from an enhanced sounding reference signal transmission via antenna switching or repetition. A method, in certain embodiments, may include receiving a signaling indication at a user equipment from a network entity. The signaling indication may indicate a configuration for sounding reference signal transmission via at least one of antenna switching or repetition using a resource group. The resource group may comprise a plurality of resources that are either adjacent or have a limited time interval between at least two of the plurality of resources within the resource group. The method may also include transmitting the sounding reference signal from the user equipment to the network entity via at least one of the antenna switching or the repetition using the resource group.
