Abstract: An ultrasonic probe can include a probe main body that receives ultrasonic vibration generated by an ultrasonic transducer and a treatment unit disposed on a distal end of the probe main body. The treatment unit can include a resection portion and a guide unit that each have a projected shape when viewed along a longitudinal axis of the ultrasonic probe. The resection portion can resect a bone that needs to be treated along a resection direction. The guide unit can protrude from the resection portion on a distal end of the treatment unit. The guide unit can also help to maintain the resection direction relative to a central axis of the hole.

Abstract: Ultrasound oscillation can be propagated to a distal end of an elongated probe. A cross-sectional surface of the probe is perpendicular to the length of the probe, and has to the same shape as a shape of a cross-sectional surface of an anchor. The probe is configured to forma bottomed hole in a bone for placing the anchor and the shape of its cross-sectional surface can prevent rotation of the anchor in the bottomed hole. An area of the cross-sectional surface of the probe at the distal end can be larger than an area of a cross-sectional surface of the probe at a proximal end. The distal end of the probe includes a treatment portion that extends outward from a center of the proximal end of the probe in a first direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction and in a second direction different from the first direction.

Abstract: In an arthroendoscopical surgical method, a resection target area, and a freshening treatment area which becomes repair surfaces with bleeding, are identified, and a resection line and a freshening line are drawn on a tear site in a meniscus, which is emphasized by fluorescence with use of a fluorescent medicine under excitation light. Using an ultrasonic treatment tool and an arthroscope, the resection target area is resected by a probe which generates ultrasonic vibrations, based on the resection line and freshening line under visible-light illumination. Thus, an inclined resection surface is formed, and planar repair surfaces with bleeding are joined and repaird.
