Abstract:
A connector for coupling a fiber optic cable with a connection point includes a connector body at a first end of the connector and extending in a longitudinal direction and a connector housing at a second end of the connector. The connector body defines a first longitudinal conduit configured to receive a duct, and the duct is configured to slidingly receive the fiber optic cable. A compression fitting is configured to be received about a first end of the connector body and to slide relative to the connector body in the longitudinal direction to radially compress the first end of the connector body to grip the duct. The connector housing includes a second longitudinal conduit substantially aligned with the first longitudinal conduit in the longitudinal direction and a connection portion configured to couple the fiber optic cable to the connection point. The first longitudinal conduit and the second longitudinal conduit are configured to slidingly receive the fiber optic cable.
Abstract:
A multi-tap device for a cable television (CATV) system includes a tap housing and a faceplate configured to be connected to the tap housing. The device also includes a first circuit board configured to be connected to the tap housing. The device also includes a second circuit board configured to be connected to the faceplate and to the first circuit board. The device also includes an access cover connected to the tap housing. The access cover is configured to be opened to provide access to disconnect the first circuit board from the tap housing and from the second circuit board and to subsequently remove the first circuit board from the tap housing, thereby changing a tap value of the multi-tap device. The second circuit board is configured to remain connected to the faceplate and positioned within the tap housing when the first circuit board is removed from the tap housing.
Abstract:
A fiber optic connector includes a ferrule holder configured to receive a ferrule that terminates an optical fiber cable, a connector sub-assembly configured to receive an optical fiber cable and to hold the ferrule holder, a connector body configured to hold the connector sub-assembly, a shroud configured to encircle the connector body, and a housing configured to encircle a portion of the shroud. The connector body is configured to include a first mating member and a second mating member. The first mating member is configured to include a cantilevered flange, and the second mating member is configured to include a groove on an inner surface of the second mating member. The cantilevered flange is configured to engage with the groove to securely fasten the first mating member with the second mating member.
Abstract:
A multi-tap device for a cable television (CATV) system includes a tap housing and a first circuit board positioned within and removably connected to the tap housing. A directional coupler is connected to the first circuit board. A faceplate is integral with the tap housing. One or more subscriber tap ports are connected to the faceplate. An access cover is connected to the tap housing. The access cover is configured to be opened to provide access to an interior of the tap housing for a user to disconnect the first circuit board from the tap housing.
Abstract:
A port for providing electrical continuity to a coaxial cable connector comprising an outer housing having a first end and a second end, the outer housing configured to terminate a coaxial cable connector at one or both of a first end and a second end, and a biasing member disposed within the outer housing to bias a post of the coaxial cable to extend continuity between the port and a mated connector is provided. Furthermore, an associated method is also provided.
Abstract:
A torque sleeve for a coaxial cable connector that may include a sleeve body that at least partially receives a coaxial cable connector, and an integral sleeve portion having a plurality of tabs configured to be axially moved from a first position, where a portion of the sleeve encircles the assembled coaxial cable connector, to a second position, where a portion of the sleeve is configured to snap-fit over a shoulder portion of the coaxial cable connector so as to retain an axial position of the sleeve. In the second position, the sleeve may facilitate tightening of the coaxial cable connector when a torque force is applied to the torque sleeve.
Abstract:
A connector having a coupler-body continuity member is provided, wherein the coupler-body continuity member electrically couples a coupler and a body, thereby establishing electrical continuity between the coupler and the body. Furthermore, the coupler-body continuity member facilitates grounding through the connector, and renders an electromagnetic shield preventing ingress of unwanted environmental noise.
Abstract:
A connector is configured to extend an electrical grounding continuity path. The connector, in one embodiment, has a body structure, a post structure, a coupler structure and a continuity structure.
Abstract:
A post having a first end, a second end, and a flange proximate the second end, wherein the post is configured to receive a center conductor surrounded by a dielectric of a coaxial cable, a connector body attached to the post, a coupling element attached to the post, the coupling element having a first end a second end, and a biasing member disposed within a cavity formed between the first end of the coupling element and the connector body to bias the coupling element against the post is provided. Moreover, a connector body having a biasing element, wherein the biasing element biases the coupling element against the post, is further provided. Furthermore, associated methods are also provided.
Abstract:
A cable marking clip for securing to a connector of a cable such that axial movement of the cable marking clip relative to the connector is prevented includes an outer portion; and an inner portion attached to the outer portion at an end. The outer portion is configured to engage a connector having strain relief grooves and the inner portion is configured to be received radially between the connector and a cable so as to prevent axial movement of the cable marking clip relative to connectors with and without strain relief grooves.
