摘要: A method for measuring an upper limb reaching capability of a user with an impaired limb is provided. Each upper limb is placed at a default position on a horizontal surface. A target is displayed from among a plurality of targets on the horizontal surface. One of the limbs reaches for the target. Limb choice, position information and elapsed time are sensed and recorded. The reaching limb is retracted to the default position. The displaying step through the retracting step are repeated for each of the plurality of targets, wherein each of the plurality of targets is spaced apart.

摘要: A system for facilitating image management for portable devices is disclosed. The system includes a host configured to maintain information relating to a first portable device and a second portable device and an interface device configured to communicate with the host and the first and second portable devices. The interface device includes control logic configured to: determine whether the first portable device is valid for image synchronization using information provided by the host; and if it is determined that the first portable device is valid for image synchronization, record an image of the first portable device, determine whether the second portable device is valid for image synchronization, and download an image of the first portable device to the second portable device if it is determined that the second portable device is valid for image synchronization. The interface device further includes control logic configured to: determine whether the second portable device is valid for image replacement using information provided by the host, and if it is determined that the second portable device is valid for image replacement, retrieve an image of the first portable device and download the retrieved image to the second portable device. The interface device also includes control logic configured to: determine whether the second portable device includes additional information that is not included in the image of the first portable device, and if it is determined that the second portable device includes the additional information, concatenate the additional information with the image of the first portable device, and download the concatenated additional information and image of the first portable device onto the second portable device. The interface device concatenates the additional information and the image of the first portable device based on a set of conflict resolution rules.

摘要: Embodiments of the invention introduce efficient methods for securely generating a cryptogram by a user device, and validating the cryptogram by a server computer. In some embodiments, a secure communication can be conducted whereby a user device provides a cryptogram without requiring the user device to persistently store an encryption key or other sensitive data used to generate the cryptogram. For example, the user device and server computer can mutually authenticate and establish a shared secret. Using the shared secret, the server computer can derive a session key and transmit key derivation parameters encrypted using the session key to the user device. The user device can also derive the session key using the shared secret, decrypt the encrypted key derivation parameters, and store the key derivation parameters. Key derivation parameters and the shared secret can be used to generate a single use cryptogram key. The cryptogram key can be used to generate a cryptogram for conducting secure communications.

摘要: A bridge bidding box is provided comprising two parts: a bottom and a top part. When the box is opened, the bottom part is removed and placed into a cut out area of the top part. The cut out area of the top part is angled so that when the bottom part is placed into this cut out area, the cards in the bottom part are automatically angled backwards, making it easier to see and remove the bid cards from the box. This configuration allows the entire box to lie flat on the table, providing stability and proper weight distribution. The bottom of the box is provided with non-skid gripping material, which prevents the box from moving or sliding on the table. When the base part is placed into the top part, the top part is at an angle and weight distribution that it is difficult to tip over the box.

摘要: Access protection and priority control is performed in a network with distributed queueing by the use of counters and a memory. The counters accumulate a number of passing request bits, the number of packets waiting in a queue, request bits generated, busy bits changed by station, and the numbers of free packets which have passed the station on the communication medium. These request bits indicate that another station wishes to issue a data packet. The counters decrement when a free cell passes the station. The counters indicate a queue placing. The memory stores upper and lower threshold values. These threshold values are compared to the counter values to control the issuing of data packets from each station onto the medium. The imposed thresholds ensure that the bandwidth available to each station is maintained despite traffic load conditions, transmission rates, or length of the medium. This mechanism is applicable to the static and dynamic control of bandwidth usage of stations and nodes used in the I.E.E.E. 802.6 Draft Standard for Distributed Queue Dual Bus Metropolitan Area Networks.

摘要: A portable baseball practice device (10) functioning as either a batting tee or a strike zone indicator is disclosed. As a batting tee, a pair of adjustable stanchions (40 and 50) are mounted on planar, horizontal members (20and 30). One stanchion mounts on an extender member (30) abutting a base plate member (20) which serves as home plate. A cup (46) for resting a ball is at the top of this stanchion. The second stanchion is positioned in the base plate member and adjusted in height relative to the first stanchion so that, for example, a contact-type hitter practices hitting the ball in front of home plate with a slight downswing. As a pitching device, both stanchions are mounted in the extender so that they straddle the base. Indicators such as color bands on the stanchion surfaces provides the high-low range of the strike zone.
