摘要: An inhaler device for pulmonary delivery of at least one substance from a drug dose cartridge to an inhaling user, including: a first conduit for conducting a carrier airflow to a proximal opening of a mouthpiece for use by the user, a holder configured to position the dose cartridge within the carrier airflow; and a second conduit for conducting a shunting airflow to the mouthpiece without passing through the dose cartridge position. In some embodiments, a controller connected to a valve controls a rate of carrier airflow, for example by controlling the shunting airflow, based on a sensor indication of airflow rate and a target airflow profile.

摘要: The invention provides a dosing system for an inhalation device, comprising a filling chamber (10); a reservoir chamber (31) which supplies liquid (3) to an aerosol generator (301); and a plunger (20) which includes an overflow chamber (25) and which is pivotable about a hinge (50). The filling chamber has an inner wall (12) which is higher on the side adjacent to the hinge than on the opposite side. When the filling chamber is filled with liquid and the plunger is pivoted into the filling chamber, part of the liquid is displaced over the lower side (17) of the inner wall into the reservoir chamber and some or all of the remaining liquid is displaced into the overflow chamber. The invention also provides an inhalation device comprising the dosing system and a method for dosing liquid to the inhalation device.

摘要: A system may include a mobile application residing on an external device and an inhalation device. The inhalation device may include a mouthpiece, a mouthpiece cover, medicament, and an electronics module comprising a processor. The inhalation device may be configured to both prepare a dose of medicament for delivery to a user and cause the processor to transition between power states when the mouthpiece cover is moved from a closed position to an open position to expose the mouthpiece. The electronics module or the mobile application may be configured to generate usage events based on usage of the inhalation device by the user. The electronics module may also include a pressure sensor, and the electronics module or the mobile application may be configured to determine whether a usage event is a good inhalation event, a fair inhalation event, or a no inhalation event based on feedback from the pressure sensor.

摘要: A sensing module for monitoring dosage delivery of a vaporized material, and a portable vaporization unit including the sensing module, include a light sensor that detects disruptions in a light path across a vapor channel, the disruptions caused by the vaporized material flowing through the vapor channel. The light sensor includes a UV light source, which may emit 370 nm wavelength light, and a UV light detector that converts intensity of incident light in the light path into a signal. A microprocessor of the sensing module compares the signal to a baseline measurement to determine the concentration of a medicament in the vapor; then, using the flow rate and activation time of the device, the microprocessor determines the dosage and can perform monitoring and reporting actions based on the dosage. A measuring circuit measures fluctuations in resistance/impedance of a vaporization element to further determine flow rate and/or dosage.

摘要: Provided is a pharmaceutical composition comprising an oral corticosteroid for use in post-exacerbation treatment of a respiratory disease in a subject, which post-exacerbation treatment includes an initial dose of the oral corticosteroid. The post-exacerbation treatment being continued until fulfilment of an inhalation parameter criterion by one or more post-exacerbation inhalations performed by the subject with at least one inhaler and/or fulfilment of a rescue inhaler usage criterion relating to post-exacerbation usage of a rescue inhaler configured to deliver a rescue medicament to the subject, at which point the dose of the oral corticosteroid is changed from the initial dose. Further provided are systems and methods for determining whether the inhalation parameter criterion is fulfilled and for comparing a post-exacerbation value of an inhalation parameter to a baseline value of the inhalation parameter.

摘要: A method for evaluating inhalation administration and a system for evaluating inhalation administration, the system including a flow detector and an intelligent terminal. The method includes the following steps: 1) obtaining patient-related data of an inspiration flow-time curve; 2) according to an inspiration flow parameter of inhalation administration, obtaining a start time and an end time of each effective inspiration flow section on the inspiration flow-time curve; and 3) calculating an effective inspiration volume Veffective based on the inspiration flow-time curve and a series of time parameters ti1 and ti2 obtained. The method for evaluating inhalation administration and the system for evaluating inhalation administration provide a basis for medical workers to select an appropriate inhalation administration device for patients.
