Abstract:
A transverse-burner recuperative furnace for glass making, which comprises burner blocks of which the inner aperture, of generally elongate rectangular shape, exhibits a first portion of constant cross-section extending from the rear face of the burner block, and a second portion progressively flaring upwards and downwards to the front face of the burner block, such second portion exhibiting an angle of flare .alpha. of not more than 15.degree., and the cumulated total length of these apertures representing at least 0.65 times the distance between the extreme burner blocks.
Abstract:
A novel vault for industrial furnaces, such as glass-making and metallurgical furnaces, comprised of a plurality of arches arranged side-by-side and each composed of a plurality of archstones made of fused cast refractory material. The archstones include a relatively thin slab-like lower portion and at least one upper rib integral therewith extending along the longitudinal direction of the individual arches. The corresponding ribs of the archstones of a given arch are aligned and define recessed portions filled with a refractory concrete having preferably good thermally insulating properties. A highly efficient thermally insulating structure covers the filled archstones.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and system for permanently attaching a take-up screw (3) for taking-up the axial clearance of the armature shaft of a windscreen wiper motor. The take-up screw (3) is screwed axially into a bore (1) in the motor base (SM) until it reaches a stop position in relation to the armature shaft (6) locked on the screw, At least one surface discontinuity (2) is provided in the bore (1) and/or the thread of the screw (3), allowing the screw (3) to be screwed into the bore until it reaches the stop position. The screw (3) is screwed into the bore until the stop position is reached and a screw- and/or motor base-deformation strain (D) is applied at the discontinuity (2) in order to deform the side surface of the screw (3) and/or motor base (SM) and permanently attach the screw (3) and/or motor base by means of wedging in the discontinuity. The invention is suitable for the wind-screen wiper motors of motor vehicles.
Abstract:
A motorised reduction gear unit, especially one for driving screen wipers of a vehicle, includes a hollow gearbox casing which is closed by a closure plate. At least a portion of the external surface of the closure plate is electrically conductive. The unit also includes an electronic suppressor comprising a group of electronic components arranged on the conductive portion of the external surface of the closure plate. The suppressor components are enclosed by a housing of generally cap-like configuration, which is electrically conductive. The housing includes at least one means for connecting it electrically with the conductive portion of the external surface of the closure plate.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a regenerator furnace which is useful in making glass, the regenerator furnace including burner pipes, each burner pipe having a generally square or rectangular cross section, the upper part or cover of each pipe being built with monolithic elements made of refractory material and of sufficient extent for each upper element to rest at its ends on the refractory elements forming port side walls, these lateral elements themselves resting on refractory elements forming the base of the pipes.
