    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network entity, one or more control messages that indicate a configuration for a first downlink bandwidth part (BWP) associated with a first operating mode of the UE, a second downlink BWP associated with a second operating mode of the UE, a first set of resources within the first downlink BWP, and a second set of resources within the second downlink BWP. At least a portion of the configuration may correspond to a capability of the UE. The UE may monitor the first set of resources while in the first operating mode, and may monitor the second set of resources while in the second operating mode. The UE may receive a system information update or a public warning system (PWS) notification from the network entity via the second set of resources.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. For instance, a user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration of a set of search space sets for a downlink control channel. The UE may determine a quantity of downlink control channel units (e.g., downlink control channel elements, downlink control channel candidates) for monitoring over the set of search space sets, where downlink control channel units that overlap may be counted separately. For instance, the downlink control channel units may overlap in time and frequency and/or may have a same associated payload size and associated set of control channel elements. The UE may monitor the downlink control channel according to a subset of the set of search space sets, where the subset excludes one or more of the set of search space sets based on the quantity of downlink control channel units satisfying a threshold.

A user equipment (UE) may receiving control signaling indicating an uplink configured grant including a set of physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission occasions. The UE may transmit a PUSCH message within a first PUSCH transmission occasion of the set of PUSCH transmission occasions. The UE may transmit an uplink control information (UCI) message indicating a second PUSCH transmission occasion of the set of PUSCH transmission occasions that will be unused by the UE, where the second PUSCH transmission occasion is based on a quantity of uplink traffic within a message buffer at the UE, the second PUSCH transmission occasion conflicting with a set of reserved resources, or both. The UE may then communicate with a network entity based on transmitting the UCI message, where the communicating includes refraining from transmitting messages within the second PUSCH transmission occasion.

For example, the described techniques provide for reception of system information via a wake up radio of a user equipment (UE). The network may indicate a configuration for receiving system information via the wake up radio (e.g., a second radio of the UE), where the wake up radio receiver uses less power than the main radio of the UE (e.g., the first radio of the UE). The network entity may transmit a signal(s) for reception via the wake up radio that include system information that would be included in a master information block (MIB), a system information block (SIB), and/or a synchronization signal block (SSB), for example to reduce latency associated with waking up the main radio from a sleep mode or in order to increase bandwidth and/or provide additional system information or more frequent system information to the UE.

An energy harvesting wireless device may accumulate energy during an energy harvesting state for use in subsequent operation. In some cases, the energy harvesting wireless device may detect a trigger, such as a change in an energy status of the energy harvesting wireless device or explicit control signaling from a network, for transmitting a power headroom report (PHR), channel state information (CSI), or both. In some wireless communications systems, a user equipment (UE) may receive a control message scheduling multiple downlink control messages associated with a burst. The control message may indicate a condition associated with canceling decoding of a first set of downlink messages from the multiple downlink messages based on a failure to decode a second set of downlink messages from the multiple downlink messages. In some examples, the condition may indicate a threshold quantity of negative acknowledgment messages or a threshold quantity of downlink messages. As such, the UE may cancel the decoding of at least a subset of the first set of downlink messages from the multiple downlink messages based on the condition. In some cases, the UE may transmit an indication that the UE canceled the decoding of the at least subset of the first set of downlink messages.
