Abstract: Techniques for wireless communications are described. Control information used to preschedule communication resources may be received and communications may be performed based on the control information using a prescheduling technique. A scheduling type used for the control information may be determined using configuration information, an indication included in the control information, or both. A wireless device that is prescheduled communication resources may not start or not restart an inactivity timer based on the received control information. Also, a wireless device that is prescheduled communication resources may not start a retransmission timer based on the received control information. Additionally, a wireless device that is prescheduled communication resources may also refrain from transmitting a scheduling request based on a duration until a next instance of prescheduled communication resources is expected to occur.

Abstract: Preclusive data decompression failure techniques, such as may avoid data decompression failures using predictive decompression failure indications and/or configure communication devices for data transmission recovery before reordering window timer expiration, are described. Preclusive data compression failure operation may, for example, initiate compressor memory resets conditionally according to some aspects of the present disclosure, such as using one or more trigger events to predictively indicate decompression failure. Additionally or alternatively, preclusive data compression failure operation may provide for configuring communication devices for data transmission recovery before reordering window timer expiration, such as configuration for prioritization to provide data transmission recovery before reordering window timer expiration. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some wireless communications networks, a device, such as a user equipment (UE), may be configured to detect a signal blockage affecting one or more antennas of the UE. The signal blockage may be associated with the position of a body, such as a user, relative to the one or more antennas of the UE, which may include how a user places their hand on or near the device during use. The position of the body may block one or more of the antennas of the UE, causing increased signal attenuation and decreased communications performance. The UE may be configured to signal, an indication based on detecting the signal blockage.

The method generally includes determining one or more blocks of data in a current packet matching one or more blocks of data in one or more portions of one or more previous packets stored in a memory, compressing at least a portion of the current packet based on an enhanced compression format having reduced metadata relative to another compression format to indicate one or more of the matching blocks of data, and transmitting the compressed current packet. Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for packet buffering. A method that may be performed by a receiving node includes dynamically determining one or more time durations to buffer packets. The one or more time durations can be different than a time duration of a configured timer for buffering the packets. The receiving node may input one or more parameters to a machine learning algorithm and obtain, as output of the machine learning algorithm based on the input one or more parameters, one or more time durations to buffer packets. The receiving node buffers packets for the determined one or more time durations. The receiving node may use machine learning to dynamically determine the one or more time durations to buffer packet. The buffering may be at a radio link control (RLC) reassembling buffer and/or a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) buffer.
