Abstract: Disclosed embodiments pertain to combining Reference Signal Time Difference (RSTD) measurements from partial measurement sessions that result when a single measurement session is interrupted by one or more interruption events including Out of Service (OOS) or Inter-Frequency Handover (IFH) events. In some embodiments, first Time Of Arrival (TOA) measurements of cellular signals during a plurality of discontiguous partial measurement sessions separated by one or more interruption events may be obtained. Second TOA measurements based on a reference time source may be obtained for a plurality of the first TOA measurements from at least two partial measurement sessions. A cell associated with a second TOA measurement may be selected as a reference cell and for each non-reference cell associated with a second TOA measurement, a corresponding RSTD measurement may be obtained relative to the selected reference cell.

Abstract: Techniques provided herein are directed toward using information from various sources to determine when the mobile device enters and exits a traffic tunnel, turning off the GNSS receiver of the mobile device when the mobile device enters the tunnel, and turning the GNSS receiver back on once it exits. For example, the mobile device can turn off the GNSS receiver based, at least in part, on a determination that the mobile device has entered the traffic tunnel, and a determined traffic tunnel length and/or estimated amount of time the mobile device will be in the traffic tunnel.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) is preconfigured with Positioning Reference Signal (PRS) configurations for a plurality of base stations. The UE receives a base station almanac including position information and identifies of local base stations. Using the PRS configurations and information from the base station almanac, the UE receives PRS signals from a first set of base stations. The UE may also receive cell-specific reference signals (CRS) from a second set of base stations. The UE performs location determination for the user equipment using the PRS signals from the first set of base stations, the CRS signals from the second set of base stations.
