Abstract:
Systems and methods for applying light to an environment are provided. A system may include an elongate first body having a first side wall, a second side wall opposite the first side wall, and a bottom wall. The first body may define a lengthwise channel between the first side wall and the second side wall. The first body may have a first groove disposed along an inner surface of the first side wall, a second groove disposed along an inner surface of the second side wall, and a cover which may be coupled to the first body via the first groove and the second groove. The first body and the cover may collectively enclose at least a portion of the channel. The system may include an LED disposed within the channel.
Abstract:
Described herein are devices and methods for mounting a lamp, wherein the lamp may include a light and a mounting assembly that may be configured to enable a quick release installation of the light. The light may be a UV light, and the light may be mounted to an external or an internal surface of an HVAC unit via a mounting assembly which may include a bracket, a mounting base, and/or a socket. The base and socket may have complementary engagement structures that allow the base to engage the socket from either of a first axial direction and a second axial direction.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an add on filter and air filtration system and method incorporating an add on filter for applying ultraviolet light to an environment to create oxidizing agents for killing microbes, such as bacteria, mold, and viruses, and for destroying odors. The add on filter may be coupled to existing air filtration systems to provide further filtration of the air. The add on filter includes an ultraviolet light source for emitting a broad spectrum of ultraviolet light and a catalytic target structure mechanically coupled to the ultraviolet light source. The system and method result in the production of Hydroxyl Radicals, Super Oxide ions and Hydro Peroxide for killing microbes.
Abstract:
The present invention relates generally to an advanced oxidation process for providing advanced oxidation products to an environment. More particularly, the present invention provides a wick structure and hydrophilic granules for use in an advanced oxidation process, and methods of making the same. The wick structure and hydrophilic granules may be configured to collect and concentrate water vapor, so that the water vapor may subsequently be used to generate advanced oxidation products that react with and neutralize compounds in an environment, including microbes, odor causing chemicals, and other organic and inorganic chemicals.
Abstract:
In some embodiments, an electrodeless lamp may be provided. The lamp may include an outer tube and an inner tube. The inner tube may be sealed to the outer tube to define a sealed space in which a gas may be contained. The gas may be configured to emit electromagnetic radiation when an electromagnetic field is applied thereto.
