    摘要: A discrete pod gas scrubber system for removing contaminants from the air of a work area, such as a paint spray booth. Each scrubber pod includes an inlet section having opposed converging planar walls and side walls, an intermediate section having opposed diverging walls and side walls communicating with the inlet section through a reduced diameter venturi, and an outlet section having a bottom wall perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the scrubber pod, a diverging top wall and an end wall. The end wall includes an orifice opening and orifice plates for adjusting the orifice opening and the combined lengths of the aligned scrubber pods are between fifty and ninety percent of the total length of the scrubber system, more preferably between sixty percent and eighty five percent of the total length. The scrubber system of this invention significantly reduces the noise generated in the work area normally located above the gas scrubber system.

    摘要: A pump for transferring particulate material from a source to a remote location, including a particulate chamber having open ends, check valves at the open ends, a vacuum source connected to the chamber adjacent one end, a gas source at the opposed end of the chamber and a control which alternatively connects the vacuum to the chamber to draw particulate material from the source to the chamber and connecting the gas under pressure to drive the particulate material to the remote location. In a preferred embodiment, the chamber has a cylindrical inner diameter and the source of vacuum is a venturi pump connected to a pinch valve permitting overflow of particulate material through the pinch valve and venturi pump, which is returned to the source. In one embodiment, the pinch valve surrounds an open end of the chamber permitting overflow while avoiding agglomeration of the particulate material.

    摘要: A method of detecting the metastasis of primary breast cancer to a lymph node is provided, comprising detecting, in lymph node tissue, the presence of a nucleic acid of c-myc, PIP or keratin-19. The presence of any one of these nucleic acids in lymph node tissue is associated with metastatic breast cancer. The presence of one or more of these markers in lymph node tissue or other tissue indicates that cells from the primary tumor have migrated from the breast tissue to the lymph node or other tissue. Also provided is a method of predicting the histopathologic stage of a cancer in a patient without having to perform a histopathologic analysis, comprising detecting, in lymph node tissue from the patient, the presence of a nucleic acid of c-myc, the presence of a nucleic acid of c-myc being correlated with stage I cancer as determined by histopathology. Alternatively, the absence of a nucleic acid of PIP and the absence of a nucleic acid of keratin-19 are correlated with stage I cancer as determined by histopathology. In another embodiment, the presence of a nucleic acid of PIP is correlated with stages later than stage I cancer as determined by histopathology. Further, the presence of a nucleic acid of keratin-19 is correlated with stages later than stage I cancer as determined by histopathology. A method of predicting survival time of cancer patients is also provided, comprising detecting, in lymph node tissue from the patient, the presence of a nucleic acid of c-myc, PIP or keratin-19. The presence of a nucleic acid of any of c-myc, PIP or keratin-19 is correlated with a shorter average survival time compared with the presence of none of the nucleic acids.

A second parallel capacitative plate 15 is formed on an insulating body which is held in place relative to the extrusion by a resilient support 16.
