摘要: Embodiments of the invention relate to a method and system to implement a DDR interface, such as a high-speed encode/decode interface. In one embodiment, a method of encoding data comprises the acts of (1) receiving a first signal, a second signal, and a first clock signal common to the first and second signals; (2) detecting rising edges and falling edges of the first clock signal; and (3) generating a composite signal based at least in part on the first and second signals and the detected rising and falling edges. The composite signal is associated with a second clock signal that is generated based at least in part on the detected rising and falling edges and on a time delay relative to the first clock signal.

摘要: A method and system for allocating blocks of disk in persistent storage to requesting threads. A primary data structure is provided for organizing and categorizing blocks of disk space. In addition, a secondary data structure is provided for maintaining a list of all active file system processes and blocks of disk space used by those processes. Blocks of disk space are assigned to pages. At such time as a thread may request allocation of disk space, both data structures are reviewed to determine if the requested disk space is available and to limit access of available disk space to a single page of memory to a single thread at any one time.

摘要: A system for data base management using memory devices holding a database containing tables of data occupying extents. A database engine reviews each query to determine an extents list of extents containing the data needed by that said query. A query monitor then re-orders the extents lists so that extents are retreived and stored in a buffer cache for more efficient use when executing the queries. The database engine retreives needed extents from the memory devices, as ordered in the extents lists, and stores those extents in the buffer cache. The database engine then executes one or more queries on the data in the extents in the buffer cache to determine respective results.

摘要: Techniques are provided for processing an Input/Output (I/O) request. At least one data block is allocated for use in completing the I/O request. A current operations record is stored for the I/O request. It is determined whether the I/0 request has been completed within a specified period of time. In response to determining that the I/O request has not been completed within the specified period of time, the allocated at least one data block is fenced. Also provided are techniques for processing an Input/Output (I/O) request in which an identification message is received from a client computer. It is determined whether the client computer is a rogue client based on whether a current operations record exists for the client computer.

摘要: Aspects of the invention provide a transport system powered by short block Linear Synchronous Motors (LSMs). The use of short blocks allows vehicles to move under precise control even when they are in close proximity to each other. The design allows the vehicles to be propelled and guided while negotiating sharp turns and negotiating merge and diverge switches. A coreless LSM can be used to create propulsive force without attractive force so as to allow a relatively high drag vehicle suspension, such as a vehicle sliding on a smooth surface. Further aspects of the invention provide a switching member that is selectively moveable relative to a guideway in order to change a magnetic force acting on the vehicle transverse to a direction of motion of the vehicle.
