    Abstract: The present invention provides a display device including a substrate including a plurality of pixel areas, a thin film transistor formed on the substrate, a common electrode and a pixel electrode formed on the thin film transistor, a liquid crystal layer filling a microcavity formed on the common electrode and the pixel electrode, a lower insulating layer formed to be spaced apart from the common electrode and the pixel electrode, a roof layer formed on the lower insulating layer, an intermediate insulating layer formed on the roof layer, a first touch sensing electrode formed on the intermediate insulating layer, an injection hole partially exposing the microcavity formed in the roof layer, the intermediate insulating layer, and the first touch sensing electrode, an overcoat formed on the first touch sensing electrode to cover the injection hole and sealing the microcavity, and a second touch sensing electrode formed on the overcoat.

    Abstract: A display device and a method of manufacturing the display device are provided. Moisture may be prevented from penetrating into the display device. The display device includes a substrate including a pixel area. A thin film transistor is formed on the substrate. A pixel electrode is connected to the thin film transistor and formed in the pixel area. A roof layer is formed on the pixel electrode. The roof layer is separated from the pixel electrode via a microcavity. A liquid crystal layer fills the microcavity. A liquid crystal injection hole is formed in the roof layer and exposes a portion of the microcavity. An encapsulation layer is formed on the roof layer. The encapsulation layer covers the liquid crystal injection hole and seals the microcavity for the pixel area. The encapsulation layer includes a multilayer structure.

    Abstract: A display includes a plurality of pixel columns and a plurality of pixel rows including a first pair of pixel rows and a second pair of pixel rows adjacent to each other. The LCD also includes a first gate line and a second gate line positioned between the first pair of pixel rows and the second pair of pixel rows, a microcavity layer including a plurality of liquid crystal injection holes, and a common electrode positioned on the microcavity layer. The LCD also includes a supporting member positioned on a common electrode and a capping layer positioned on a supporting member to cover the liquid crystal injection holes.
