Abstract: A bicycle operating device is basically provided with a base member, a first operating member and an attachment. The base member has an interior space that is configured to receive an operating unit. The first operating member is configured to move along a first operating path from a rest position to an operated position to operate the operating unit when the operating unit is disposed in the interior space. The attachment blocks the first operating path to prevent movement of the first operating member from reaching the operated position.

Abstract: A bicycle operating device includes a bicycle component positioning unit that basically includes a positioning structure and a maintaining member. The positioning structure is configured to be movable in a first direction and a second direction that is opposite the first direction. The maintaining member is configured to move between a first position that maintains the positioning structure in one of a plurality of predetermined positions and a second position that releases the positioning structure to move to another one of the predetermined positions. The maintaining member contacts the positioning structure. The positioning structure and the maintaining member are configured such that the maintaining member applies a rotating force on the positioning structure in the first direction as the maintaining member moves from the second position to the first position.

The reservoir lid closes a tank opening of the hydraulic reservoir tank. The tank opening defines an opening cross sectional area. The hydraulic reservoir tank defines a tank cross sectional area parallel to the opening cross sectional area. The opening cross sectional area of the tank opening is smaller than the tank cross sectional area of the hydraulic reservoir tank.

Abstract: A bicycle operating device includes a base member coupled to a handlebar clamp and a user operated member movably coupled to the base member to move a mechanical control cable with respect to the base member. The user operated member is movable with respect to the base member between a rest position and an operated position. The bicycle operating device does not mechanically fix a position of the mechanical control cable with respect to the base member in accordance with movement of the user operated member between the rest position and the operated position.
