    Abstract: A roll stand for the rolling of rolling stock, especially metal products. The roll stand includes at least two chocks for mounting at least one roll, the roll being rotatably mounted in the chocks by its two cylindrical roll necks. A cylindrical neck bushing is arranged on the roll neck with radial play. A rotationally fixed annual axial bearing is axially offset from the neck bushing. The bearing arrangement for the roll necks in the chocks is formed as a plain bearing, preferably a hydrodynamic oil film bearing. When subjected to a load in a rolling process, the neck bushing moves and deforms not only in the radial direction, but also in the axial direction.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a device and a method for cooling a roll. The roll concerned can be a roller in a roll stand or a measuring roll. The device comprises a cooling shell having a cross section in the shape of a section of a circular arc, for covering a surface region of the roll (200), wherein, in the region of an edge of the cooling shell, a bearing is formed with a pivot joint (120) with an axis of rotation running perpendicular to the circular arc-shaped cross-section, for pivoting the cooling shell about the axis of rotation. According to the invention, in order to ensure that the size of the cooling gap during the rolling operation or during the operation of a measuring roll is always autonomously optimally set, the bearing has a degree of freedom in radial direction r with respect to the circular arc-shaped cross-section of the cooling shell, such that the cooling shell is mounted in the bearing in such a way as to be freely movable in the radial direction.

    Abstract: A volume flow regulating valve for controlling the volume flow of a fluid medium in two outflow ducts. The volume flow regulating valve is composed of a cylinder with a dual piston mounted axially displaceably in the cylinder, with a central pressure chamber being formed in the region of the barbell-shaped central piece of the dual piston. Aside from an inlet for the fluid medium, it is also the case that the two outlet ducts are provided at the central pressure chamber.     Abstract: To increase the load-carrying capacity or rolling capacity of a roll assembly in a rolling mill, throttle elements are used, which shut off the lateral flow of the lubricating film in a partial region between the roll neck and the bearing surface of the roll neck bearing assembly, thereby bringing about an increase in pressure in the lubricating film. At least one throttle element is embodied as an annular segment, forming an angular shut-off region for the lubricant in the annular gap. The invention makes it possible for existing installations to be easily retrofitted, without the need for structural modifications. In the case of new installations, the same load-carrying capacity as before can be provided while the dimensions of the installation space are reduced. The load-carrying capacity of the bearing assembly can be flexibly adjusted based on the dimensions of the shut-off region for the flow of lubricant.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a rolling stand for the rolling of metallic rolling stock. The rolling is achieved with the aid of a roll of which the two roll journals (112) are rotatably mounted in recesses (122) of chocks (120). The recesses are supplied with coolant and/or lubricant via a high-pressure inlet (124) and at least one low-pressure inlet (126). The high-pressure inlet is fed via high-pressure conduits (132) from a high-pressure pump (130). To reduce the costs for driving the high-pressure pump in relation to the prior art, the invention provides that the high-pressure pump is rotationally coupled to the roll journal via a gear mechanism in order to be driven thereby.
