Abstract:
A method for receiving a multimedia service is provided. The method includes receiving service specific information for at least one multimedia service provided from different networks, selecting one service based on the service specific information, and receiving the selected service. The service specific information includes one of a first service map table including information about at least one service which is transmitted over a plurality of logical channels, and a second service map table including information about at least one service which is transmitted over a single logical channel. Each of the first and second service map tables includes asset-related information.
Abstract:
A method for transmitting media data in a Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG) Media Transport (MMT) system is provided. The method includes receiving a Media Processing Unit (MPU) fragmented into one or more Media Fragment Units (MFUs), generating one or more multimedia data packets each including a packet header and a payload, based on the MPU, and transmitting the one or more multimedia data packets to a terminal. A payload header included in the payload includes identification information indicating an MPU to which at least one MFU included in the payload belongs, and a counter indicating the number of the at least one MFU.
Abstract:
An apparatus and a method for transmitting multimedia data in a hybrid network are provided. The apparatus includes a payload part including at least one of first data synchronized according to a time to be reproduced and second data other than the first data, a first header part including information on the payload part, a packet part for generating a packet, the packet part including a second header part including information on the packet, and a transceiver for generating and transmitting a signal including the payload part, the first header part, and the packet part to the hybrid network.
Abstract:
An apparatus and a method for transmitting multimedia data in a broadcast system are provided. A method for constructing a payload for a multimedia frame to be transmitted via a heterogeneous network, in a broadcast system that supports an Internet protocol-based multimedia service, includes dividing the data so as to transmit data of at least one media type and constructing a data region based on each datum of the divided data, constructing a header region including information on the state of the data contained in the data region and/or information on the data region, and combining the data region and the header region to construct a payload for the multimedia frame.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for controlling media delivery in a multimedia transport network. The method includes transmitting composition information (CI) on media assets within a media package to be transmitted, to a user equipment (UE), packetizing the media assets of the media package to packets, transmitting some of the packets to the UE, receiving a feedback message including information on an available bitrate determined by the UE from the UE while the some of the packets are transmitted, selecting media data, which can be transmitted according to the available bitrate, from the media package by using asset delivery characteristics (ADCs) of the media assets within the media package, and packetizing the selected media data to packets and transmitting the packets to the UE.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for transmitting a multimedia data packet are provided. The method includes generating Media Abstraction Layer (MAL) information for abstracting information on the multimedia data to be transmitted, generating a multimedia data packet including said MAL information, and transmitting the generated multimedia data packet to a network entity.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for transmitting a Forward Error Correction (FEC) packet block including a plurality of FEC packets in a multimedia system are provided. The method includes generating a plurality of first FEC packet blocks by performing a first FEC encoding on a plurality of source symbols, each of the plurality of first FEC packet blocks including at least one source packet and at least one repair packet for repair of each of the at least one source packet, generating a second FEC packet block by performing a second FEC encoding on the plurality of first FEC packet blocks, the second FEC packet block including at least one repair packet for the plurality of first FEC packet blocks, and transmitting the second FEC packet block that includes, in header information of each of the at least one source packet and the at least one repair packet.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for playing broadcast content in a broadcasting system are provided. The method and the apparatus enable a viewer to watch an entire event by broadcasting the event through different networks in a condition that the event may not be broadcast from start to finish over a single broadcasting network.
Abstract:
A method of transmitting adaptive media composition in a multimedia system includes configuring Media Fragment Units (MFUs) included in an Access Unit (AU) and a Media Processing Unit (MPU) as one asset; and inserting the configured asset into Composition Information (CI) and transmitting the CI, wherein the MFU includes type information indicating that the MFU corresponds an AU type or a slice type.
Abstract:
An encoding apparatus and a method of encoding a source block including different types of data payloads are provided. The method includes dividing the source block into a predetermined number M of sub blocks, generating a predetermined number P1 of base parity payloads that correspond to each of the predetermined number M of sub blocks by performing first Forward Error Correction (FEC) encoding on each of the predetermined number M of sub blocks, generating a predetermined number P2 of extended parity payloads that correspond to the source block by performing second FEC encoding on a particular type of data payloads among data payloads that make up the source block, and configuring a source coded block based on a predetermined number N of sub coded blocks including the predetermined number M of sub blocks and the predetermined number P1 of base parity payloads generated.
