摘要: A portable electronic device that provides compact configurations for audio elements are disclosed. The audio elements can be drivers (e.g., speakers) or receivers (e.g., microphones). According to one aspect, mesh structures, such as mesh barriers, are formed to facilitate improved acoustic sealing in a space efficient manner. In one embodiment, a mesh barrier for an audio port can be reliably acoustically sealed (or coupled) with an audio chamber and/or outer device housing in a space efficient manner. A mesh barrier can serve to block undesired foreign substances from entry or further entry into an audio port and/or serve as a cosmetic barrier which obscures vision into an audio port. In one embodiment, a portion of a mesh structure can be provided with a substantially planar surface that facilitates improved acoustic sealing.

摘要: A battery may have a foil battery pack with leads that are coupled to a printed circuit board. Battery protection structures formed from an insulating material such as plastic may be used to protect the foil battery pack. The foil battery pack may have a rectangular shape with front and rear faces surrounded by a rectangular peripheral edge. The battery protection structures may have a ring shape that surrounds the peripheral edge while leaving the front and rear faces exposed to minimize the size of the battery protection structures. An elastomeric material may be used to form the battery protection structures. The elastomeric material may allow the battery protection structures to stretch when the battery pack expands during use. Two shots of plastic may be incorporated into the battery protection structures to provide both puncture resistance and the ability to stretch during use.

摘要: A battery may have a foil battery pack with leads that are coupled to a printed circuit board. Battery protection structures formed from an insulating material such as plastic may be used to protect the foil battery pack. The foil battery pack may have a rectangular shape with front and rear faces surrounded by a rectangular peripheral edge. 摘要: A cam-action anti-rolling mechanism for buttons is described herein. One embodiment may take the form of a button having a body with a slot extending therethrough. The slot has a normal orientation to a direction of motion for the button. The button also includes a cam bar having a first portion extending through the slot and a second portion offset from and parallel to the first portion. The cam bar is coupled in a slip fit manner within the slot to the body and the second portion provides a rotational axis for the cam bar. A fixture coupled to the second portion of the cam bar is provided to allow for rotation of the cam bar.

摘要: One embodiment may take the form of a slide switch for electronic devices having a connecting rod and a first joint coupling a first end of the connecting rod to a button. The first joint allows rotation of the connecting rod relative to the button. A second joint couples a second end of the connecting rod to a support structure. The second joint allows the connecting rod to rotate relative to the support structure. The second joint is offset laterally from the button. The button is constrained to move along a straight path between a first resting position and a second resting position. The connecting rod is configured to resist displacement of the button from one of the first or second resting positions until the button passes a threshold displacement distance, at which point the connecting rod snaps the button into the other resting position.
