    Abstract: A container for a portable, rechargeable direct current storage device, having the following features: a housing with a housing underside with a housing set-down surface, a housing upper side, housing side walls and a housing interior, and also electrical anode and cathode contacts, wherein the housing underside has formed in it, on mutually opposite edges, set-back guide means, which extend in the direction of the housing upper side from a set-down plane defined by the housing set-down surface. The anode contact and the cathode contact can be arranged on the housing, in one or more of the set-back guide means, at a distance of at least five millimeters from the set-down plane, wherein that region of the respective housing side wall which is adjacent to the anode contact and the cathode contact terminates at a distance of at least five millimeters from the set-down plane.

    Abstract: The present application relates to a battery module and an end plate of the battery module. The end plate includes a body and connecting plates connected to edges of the body. The body has a different material from that of the connecting plate. The connecting plates extend along a height direction of the battery module. The body is fixedly connected to side plates of the battery module through the connecting plates. When the end plate is designed, the body can utilize a lower density material, so that the thickness of the body can be appropriately increased, which enables the case of the battery module to be not easily deformed due to the battery's expansion force. Further, the connecting plate can employ a material capable of improving the weld strength between the end plates and the side plates.

    Abstract: An articulate battery case encases a battery ensemble having multiple non-contiguous battery segments flexibly interconnected to one another by conductive leads. The articulate battery case employs a plurality of rigid compartments for encasing the battery ensemble. Each compartment is configured for encasing one non-contiguous battery segment. Each compartment is flexibly connected by one or more flexible hinge to at least one adjoining compartment and is articulate therewith. Each compartment defines one or more ports for interconnecting conductive leads between battery segments encased in adjoining compartments. Each compartment is interconnected to every other compartment, with or without one or more intervening compartment. When a battery ensemble is encased within the articulate battery case, it is rendered articulate, i.e., it acquires the articulation characteristics of the case within which it is contained.

    Abstract: Systems and methods of handling batteries are provided. In particular, a method for loading battery assemblies within a storage rack using a battery magazine system can be provided. The method can include loading battery assemblies within a battery magazine. The battery magazine can include a first and second sidewall and a traverse wall extending between the first and second sidewalls. The battery magazine can be installed onto a base member using engagement features located on the battery magazine and a corresponding engagement feature located on the base member. Battery magazines can be stacked on top of each other to form battery magazine stacks to be loaded into a rack using a server lift. Each battery magazine can include a battery assembly configured to be received between the first and second sidewalls of the battery magazine. The battery assembly can further include at least one battery.

    Abstract: A battery cell storage apparatus includes a plurality of sheet-formed middle plates, a plurality of middle plate holding members and a fixing member.
