Abstract:
An e-mail terminal device capable of carrying out a printing process, a storing process or the like of only e-mail with a signature or only e-mail with a signature of a trustable Certificate Authority (CA). When receiving e-mail, a determination is made as to whether or not the e-mail requires a signature. When the e-mail requires a signature, a determination is made as to a presence or an absence of the signature, whether or not a verification result of the signature is proper, and whether or not a CA issuing a public key used for the verification of the signature is trustable. When a signature is not attached, when the signature is improper, or when the CA is untrustable, the printing process is not executed. E-mail requesting retransmission of e-mail with a signature or e-mail signed by a secret key of a trustable CA is transmitted to a transmitter.

The particularly important specified number is 1 and it is able to be applied to quantum cryptographic communication. The apparatus comprises a photon pair source for generating a photon pair that comprises a signal photon and an idler photon and correlates with the generating time, photon number detectors for detecting the photon number of idler photons, a controller for controlling the gate device in conformity with the information on the photon number form the photon number detector, and a gate device for controlling the emission of the signal photon.
Abstract:
Message display control means updates and displays messages sequentially on a message list screen each time message receiving means receives a message. When input detection means detects a response message, identification means identifies the latest message at the time of detection and the response message. Response message sending means sends the response message as a response to the identified message to other participants upon completion of input of the response message. Therefore, even in the case where the message list screen is updated due to receiving the subsequent message during the input of the response message, the completed response message is able to be sent back to the response object message.
Abstract:
Confidential information included in image and voice data is filtered in an apparatus that includes an extraction unit for extracting a character string from an image frame, and a conversion unit for converting audio data to a character string. The apparatus also includes a determination unit for determining, in response to contents of a database, whether at least one of the image frame and the audio data include confidential information. The apparatus also includes a masking unit for concealing contents of the image frame by masking the image frame in response to determining that the image frame includes confidential information, and for making the audio data inaudible by masking the audio data in response to determining that the audio data includes confidential information. The playback unit included in the apparatus is for playing back the image frame and the audio data.
Abstract:

Abstract:
An electronic payment system includes a mobile apparatus, such as a mobile phone, with a memory for storing a list of electronic payment accounts that may be used to complete an electronic payment transaction. The electronic payment system further includes a merchant terminal that can receive the account list from the mobile apparatus. The merchant terminal retrieves account-related information for the accounts on the received account list and returns the account-related information to the mobile apparatus. The mobile apparatus uses the information from the merchant terminal to generate a set of payment method candidates. The set of candidates are presented to the user for selecting a payment method to be used. The payment method is sent to the merchant terminal for use in completing the pending transaction.
Abstract:
The present invention discourages effective illegal use of compromised biometric information in biometric authentication and allows biometric authentication to be securely continued even when some biometric information is compromised. A user authentication system compares extracted user features with a previously registered combination of features and authenticates the user on the basis of the result of the comparison. If the authentication is successful, the previously registered combination is replaced with anew combination of features that are registered for use in the subsequent authentication of the authentication object.
Abstract:
The apparatus includes a photon pair source for generating a photon pair that contains a signal photon and an idler photon and correlates with the generating time, photon detectors for detecting a incidence of idler photons, a clock generator, a gate device controller for generating signals for opening or closing a gate device in a frequency lowering a specific number of times within a specified time defined by the clock, and a gate device for opening or closing the gate in response to the signals from the gate device controller.
Abstract:
A hierarchical processing apparatus and method for video and audio data for producing, modifying or deleting a playlist formed from information of reproduction times, channels and so forth of programs in the form of video and audio data is disclosed. The hierarchical processing apparatus includes an image of a first hierarchy for displaying a plurality of playlists formed from a plurality of clips which are video and audio data and additional information corresponding to the clips in a list and selecting one of the playlists to determine a playlist of an object of modification or a playlist of an object of deletion, and an image of a second hierarchy for selecting one of the plurality of clips and adding, to the selected clip, corresponding additional information to produce or modify the playlist. The image of the first hierarchy and the image of the second hierarchy allow transition therebetween in a series of operations. Further, they allow reproduction of the video and audio data of a clip included in the selected playlist at any time. Consequently, while a result of a work is confirmed, editing of a playlist can be performed, thereby improving the efficiency in editing.
Abstract:
A light source beam is incident on an optical guide block and converted in its diffusion angle by a diffusion angle conversion film on a second inclined portion of the optical guide block, and reflected by a reflecting film on a first inclined portion. Then, the light is incident on a first beam splitter film on the second inclined portion and split into transmitted light and reflected light. The reflected light is focused an optical disk light reflected from the disc passes through the first beam splitter film, and then is transmitted and reflected by a second beam splitter film on a third inclined portion. This transmitted light is incident on a polarization plane conversion plate between the third inclined portion and a fourth inclined portion, so that P and S polarization components and are transmitted through and reflected by its polarized light splitting portion, respectively. The S polarization component is reflected by its reflecting surface toward light-receiving elements. The reflected light from the second beam splitter film is reflected by a focus error detection element on the second inclined portion, and an incident light-splitting point of the polarized light splitting portion is located between the center of the optical guide block and the light-receiving elements, thereby reducing a light amount loss and also increasing a Kerr rotation angle so that an RF reproduction signal with a high C/N ratio can be obtained.
