Abstract: An apparatus configured to: determine, with a position sensor, position information; determine at least one keyword within at least one audio signal, wherein at least the at least one keyword is configured to be spatially processed; obtain at least one spatial processing parameter based at least partially, on the position information, wherein the at least one spatial processing parameter is configured to be used to spatially process at least the at least one keyword to be perceived from a direction during rendering, wherein the direction indicates a navigation direction; generate at least one processed audio signal, comprising processing at least the at least one keyword based on the at least one spatial processing parameter; and provide the at least one processed audio signal, comprising the at least one processed keyword, for generation of a virtual audio image.

Abstract: To provide context-aware audio navigation instructions, a server device obtains sets of audio navigation instructions previously provided to users along with sensor data descriptive of a context in which the audio navigation instructions were provided and an indication of whether a driver correctly responded to the audio navigation instructions. The server device trains a machine learning model using this data, where the machine learning model identifies audio navigation instruction parameters for a particular context. In response to a request for navigation directions, the server device receives sensor data from the client computing device generating the request that is indicative of the environment surrounding the client computing device. The server device then applies the sensor data and navigation instructions to the machine learning model to generate a set of audio navigation instructions responsive to the request. The server device provides the set of audio navigation instructions to the client computing device.

Abstract: Implementations set forth herein relate to interactions, between vehicle computing devices and mobile computing devices, that reduce duplicative processes from occurring at either device. Reduction of such processes can be performed, in some instances, via communications between a vehicle computing device and a mobile computing device in order to determine, for example, how to uniquely render content at an interface of each respective computing device while the user is driving the vehicle. These communications can occur before a user has entered a vehicle, while the user is in the vehicle, and/or after a user has left the vehicle. For instance, just before a user enters a vehicle, a vehicle computing device can be primed for certain automated assistant interactions between the user and their mobile computing device. Alternatively, or additionally, the user can authorize the vehicle computing device to perform certain processes immediately after leaving the vehicle.

Abstract: A context-aware voice guidance method is provided that interacts with other voice services of a user device. The voice guidance does not provide audible guidance while the user is making a verbal request to any of the voice-activated services. Instead, the voice guidance transcribes its output on the screen while the verbal requests from the user are received. In some embodiments, the voice guidance only provides a short warning sound to get the user's attention while the user is speaking on a phone call or another voice-activated service is providing audible response to the user's inquires. The voice guidance in some embodiments distinguishes between music that can be ducked and spoken words, for example from an audiobook, that the user wants to pause instead of being skipped. The voice guidance ducks music but pauses spoken words of an audio book in order to provide voice guidance to the user.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems and processes for interacting with mapping applications. In one example, a virtual assistant server can efficiently communicate with a map server to provide a user with map data in response to spoken user requests received at a user device. In another example, communicatively coupled electronic devices can be synchronized such that a location marker generated on one device can be displayed on the other device. In another example, an electronic device can display simplified views of individual route directions that can be updated based on movement of the user or in response to user requests. Abstract: Various embodiments contemplate systems and methods for performing automatic speech recognition (ASR) and natural language understanding (NLU) that enable high accuracy recognition and understanding of freely spoken utterances which may contain proper names and similar entities. The proper name entities may contain or be comprised wholly of words that are not present in the vocabularies of these systems as normally constituted. Recognition of the other words in the utterances in question, e.g. words that are not part of the proper name entities, may occur at regular, high recognition accuracy. Various embodiments provide as output not only accurately transcribed running text of the complete utterance, but also a symbolic representation of the meaning of the input, including appropriate symbolic representations of proper name entities, adequate to allow a computer system to respond appropriately to the spoken request without further analysis of the user's input.
