A method for performing data-accessing management in a storage server and associated apparatus such as a host device, a storage device, etc. are provided. The method includes: in response to a client request of writing a first set of data into the storage server, utilizing the host device within the storage server to trigger broadcasting an internal request corresponding to the client request toward each storage device of a plurality of storage devices within the storage server; and in response to the internal request corresponding to the client request, utilizing said each storage device of the plurality of storage devices to search for the first set of data in said each storage device to determine whether the first set of data has been stored in any storage device, for controlling the storage server completing the client request without duplication of the first set of data within the storage server.

A method for performing memory access includes: performing a first sensing operation corresponding to a first sensing voltage and performing at least a second sensing operation corresponding to a second sensing voltage to respectively generate a first digital value of a Flash cell of a Flash memory and a second digital value of the Flash cell of the Flash memory; using the first digital value, the second digital value, and charge distribution statistics information of the Flash memory to obtain soft information of a bit stored in the Flash cell, wherein the soft information corresponds to a threshold voltage of the Flash cell; and using the soft information to perform soft decoding.

A memory access module for performing memory access management of a storage device including a plurality of storage cells includes: sensing means for performing a plurality of sensing operations respectively corresponding to a plurality of different sensing voltages in order to generate at least a first digital value of a storage cell, wherein each subsequent sensing operation corresponds to a sensing voltage which is determined according to a result of the previous sensing operation; processing means for using the first digital value to obtain soft information of a bit stored in the storage cell; and decoding means for using the soft information to perform soft decoding.

A method for accessing a memory includes: utilizing a Flash memory to perform a plurality of sensing operations with a plurality of different sensing voltages respectively corresponding to the plurality of sensing operations; according to the plurality of sensing operations, generating a first digital value of a Flash cell of the Flash memory; according to the plurality of sensing operations and the first digital value, generating at least a second digital value of the Flash cell; and obtaining soft information of the Flash cell according to the second digital value. The first digital value and the second digital value are used for determining information of a same bit stored in the Flash cell, a number of possible bit(s) of the Flash cell directly corresponds to a number of possible states of the Flash cell, and the obtained soft information is used for performing soft decoding.

A method for performing data-compression management in a storage server may include: receiving data from a host device; performing entropy detection on a plurality of sets of partial data to generate entropy detection values of the plurality of sets of partial data, respectively; classifying the plurality of sets of partial data according to the entropy detection values of the plurality of sets of partial data, respectively, to perform data compression on at least one portion of the plurality of sets of partial data through a plurality of data compression modules, respectively, wherein the plurality of data compression modules correspond to different compression capabilities, respectively; and storing the plurality of sets of partial data into at least one storage device of the storage server and recording address mapping information of the plurality of sets of partial data, respectively. A method for performing deduplication management with aid of a command-related filter and associated apparatus are provided. The method may include: utilizing at least one program module among multiple program modules running on a host device within the storage server to control the storage server to write multiple sets of user data of a user of the storage server into a storage device layer of the storage server, and utilizing a fingerprint-based deduplication management module among the multiple program modules to create and store multiple fingerprints into a fingerprint storage of the storage server to be respective representatives of the multiple sets of user data at the storage server, for minimizing calculation loading regarding deduplication control; and utilizing the command-related filter to at least convert a set of commands into a single command to eliminate unnecessary command(s), for executing the single command rather than all of the set of commands.
