摘要： A method of writing an electrically writable tag using a hand-held writing device includes the steps of providing an electrically writable tag having a plurality of electrical conductors located on a display surface of the tag, and a mechanical alignment feature including a detent for locating the tag with respect to a hand-held writing device; providing a hand-held writing device having a corresponding plurality of electrical contacts for simultaneously making contact with the electrical conductors of the tag, and a complementary alignment feature with a detent for locating the hand-held writing device with respect to the tag; and locating the hand-held writing device with respect to the tag, using the alignment features, and activating the hand-held writing device to write information on the tag.

摘要： A display for presenting selected images to a viewer is disclosed, including a transparent substrate, a transparent, electrically conductive coating formed over the transparent substrate, a light modulating layer formed over the transparent, electrically conductive layer and a photosensitive layer formed over the light modulating layer which is adapted to be exposed and developed to provide viewable and conductive images. The display further includes the light modulated layer being effective in two conditions, in a first condition to prevent the viewing of the viewable and conductive images and in a second condition to permit the viewing of the viewable and conductive images, and an electrical conduction structure connected to the viewable and conductive images and the transparent, electrically conductive coating for applying a field to the selected ones of such viewable and conductive images to cause the light modulating layer to change from the first condition to the second condition so as to present such viewable and conductive images to the viewer.

摘要： A compact flash lamp array includes a housing defining a plurality of cavities. Each cavity has a light emitting opening and a primer vent opposite the light emitting opening. 摘要： A compact flash lamp array includes a housing defining a plurality of cavities, with each cavity having a light emitting opening and a combustible mass deposited in each cavity. A firing means such as an electrically heated filament or percussive primer is provided for individually firing the combustible mass in each cavity. Each cavity in the housing is provided with a porous portion communicating to the outside of the cavity having sufficient porosity to maintain cavity integrity during combustion of the combustible mass contained in a cavity while retaining combustion by-products.
