Abstract:
An approach is provided for crowd sourcing and grouping points-of-interest based on cell broadcast message information. Reception of a message from a mobile terminal is caused, at least in part. The message specifies point-of-interest information and an associated area name corresponding to one of a plurality of cells of a communication network. The message is parsed to determine the point-of-interest information and the associated area name. A connectivity graph specifying relationships among the cells is selectively updated with the point-of-interest information.
Abstract:
A system and method for transmitting protected real-time content from one user to another is described. In a first aspect, a user sends a Rights Object to another user. In a second aspect, a user sends a Rights Object to another user via an intermediate server for a multiparty communication. In this second aspect, the users may be able to switch between designated Rights Objects as needed.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a method for multicast content pushing between a server entity (UA-I) and at least one client entity (UA-II) as well as a corresponding system and client and server entities. The method comprises the steps of inviting, by the server entity, at least one client entity to join a multicast content streaming session, answering, by the at least one client entity to the server entity, whether the client entity joins the invited multicast content streaming session, releasing, at the server entity and to the server entity, a request for multicast content streaming, responding, by the server entity, to the released request by sending a response to the request to the at least one client entity that joined the multicast content streaming session.
Abstract:
An improved system and method for permitting a transmitting electronic device to indicate explicitly which streams in a multimedia stream being transmitted should not be synchronized or should include a specified amount of synchronization jitter. The present invention aids the receiving device in understanding the stream characteristics. The present invention also allows the receiving device to make an informed decision as to whether an synchronization jitter value should be used when synchronizing two or more streams. For certain applications such as uni-directional video sharing or video PoC, the sending device of the stream can indicate that the receiving device doesn't perform any or limited synchronization for better media quality.
Abstract:
A method for exchanging content between a server entity (UA-I) and a client entity (UA-II). The method includes establishing a session between the server entity and the client entity based on a session control layer protocol, initiating a content exchange session between the server entity and the client entity based on an application layer session protocol. Furthermore, the method includes transmitting intra-session control data based on a transport mechanism of the session control layer protocol, wherein the intra-session control data controls the content exchange session.
Abstract:
An approach is provided for providing location based services using connectivity graphs based on cell broadcast information. A plurality of cell broadcast message identifiers are caused to be received. Cell broadcast message identifiers are respectively associated with a plurality of cells. A connectivity graph specifying relationships among the cells is generated for providing a location based service.

Abstract:
A virtual TV room service configured with a virtual TV room session responsive to a unique session set-up protocol between participants in the virtual TV room session and a conference server unit hosting the virtual TV room service wherein the conference server unit is defined by a unique Session Initiation Protocol Uniform Resource Identifier formed by concatenating the public portion of the Session Initiation Protocol Uniform Resource Identifier signaled in the electronic server/program guide for the mobile TV channel and the private portion of the Session Initiation Protocol Uniform Resource Identifier unique to the virtual TV room community and arranged such that each of the participants in the virtual TV room session is watching the same mobile TV channel. The capabilities of media control that are available to the participants in the virtual TV room session are specified in an XML file configured for communication during the setting up of the virtual TV room session.
Abstract:
A method, electronic device and computer program product are provided to enable an initiator of a multimedia call to signal at least one QoS parameter to a called party. The method includes: obtaining at least one flow_profile_ID; performing calculations to convert the at least one flow_profile_ID to at least one QoS parameter of the called party; and sending the at least one QoS parameter to the called party.
