    摘要: A multi-layered printed circuit board, PCB, includes first windings for a first side of a planar magnetic transformer and second windings for a second side of the planar magnetic transformer. The PCB further includes conductive layers configured as the first windings, conductive layers configured as the second windings, and layers of an isolation material. Each layer of the isolation material is arranged between two conductive layers to provide electrical isolation between the two conductive layers. A group of two or more adjacent conductive layers are all conductive layers of the first windings and are all arranged between two conductive layers of the second windings. The thickness of the isolation material between the group of adjacent conductive layers of the first windings is less than the thickness of the isolation material between a conductive layer of the second windings and a conductive layer of the first windings.

The primary winding comprises a first winding portion and at least one further winding portion. The switch based circuitry comprises controllable switches capable of switching between a first operation state wherein the input voltage is connected only over the first winding portion and at least a second operation state wherein the input voltage is connected over the first and the at least one further winding portions, thereby enabling switching between two different transformer ratios.

    摘要: An intermediate bus architecture power supply system including an output voltage feedback-regulated, isolated first stage switching voltage converter (SVC) such as an intermediate bus converter, connected via an intermediate voltage bus (IVB) to at least one second stage DC-to-DC voltage converter. The first stage SVC is configured to adjust its switching duty cycle to compensate for voltage fluctuations on the IVB. The voltage regulation mechanism of the first stage SVC may thus suppress oscillations in the IVB voltage which originate from the first stage SVC's input or from fluctuations in the system's load current, and consequently reduce electromagnetic interference as well as the amplitude of voltage and current fluctuations on the IVB.

    摘要: A switched mode power supply (400), comprising a transformer (410) having a primary winding (410-1), a transformer core (410-3) configured to store energy transferred thereto from the primary winding (410-1) during operation, and a secondary winding (410-2) having a first terminal (T1) and a second terminal (T2). The switched mode power supply also has a primary side circuit (Q1, Q2, C1) arranged to generate voltage pulses and thereby to drive the primary winding (410-1) of the transformer (410), and a secondary side circuit comprising a rectification circuit connected to the secondary winding (410-2) at the first and second terminals (T1, T2). The rectification circuit is arranged such that during a forward phase of operation of the switched mode power supply, in which the primary winding (410-1) is driven by the primary side circuit to magnetise, and store energy in, the transformer core (410-3), a current induced to flow in the secondary winding (410-2) from the second terminal (T2) to the first terminal (T1) is output by the rectification circuit. The rectification circuit is further arranged such that during a fly-back phase of operation of the switched mode power supply, in which the magnetisation of the transformer core (410-3) is reset, a current induced to flow in the secondary winding from the first terminal (T1) to the second terminal (T2) of the secondary winding (410-2) is output by the rectification circuit so that energy stored in the transformer (410) during the forward phase of operation is output by the rectification circuit.

    摘要: A control circuit for a switched mode power supply and a related method are provided for controlling switching elements in a power train of a switched mode power supply. The control circuit comprises a mode controller to monitor the output current to determine whether the output current exceeds a current threshold. The mode controller controls the switching controller to generate the switch control signals. When the current exceeds the current threshold, the power train operates in a continuous conduction mode, and upon determining that the output current has fallen to or below the current threshold, the operation of the power train is changed from the continuous conduction mode to a pulse skipping mode. The pulse skipping mode is entered from the continuous conduction mode and involves determining the amount of energy stored in a secondary circuit of the power train.
