摘要: A surgical microscope comprises an illuminating light source for observation and/or photographing, an observation optical system, an index projecting optical system and a cornea configuration measuring optical system. The index projecting optical system includes an index which is removably inserted in the illuminating light beam emitted from the illuminating light source and transmitted through an objective of the observation optical system, thereby dispensing with any particular light source for measuring a cornea configuration, and a cornea configuration measuring mode and a photographing mode being automatically changeable by automatically detecting the presence or absence of the index within the optical path of the microscope.

摘要: A control apparatus of a machine tool is adapted to detect whether or not an NC program is stopped at an end of a block and whether or not a rotation of a handwheel for a manual pulse generator is stopped and restarted when both a manual pulse mode and a single block mode are selected. The NC program is accordingly automatically restarted from the next block in conjunction with the restart of the handwheel rotation. The operator thus can restart an operation of an NC unit only by rotating the handwheel when the operation is automatically stopped at the end of a block of the NC program.

摘要: Instillation of a 1.5% (w/v) levofloxacin ophthalmic solution three times a day, which is the dosage or dose regimen of the present invention, has features to cure bacterial conjunctivitis in a shorter time than instillation of a 0.5% (w/v) ophthalmic solution three times a day, which is the conventional dosage or dose regimen, and not to increase the rate of occurrence of side effects. Curing the ocular infection in a short time leads to shortening of the duration of exposure of the ocular-infection-causing bacterium to levofloxacin. Therefore, the levofloxacin ophthalmic solution in the dosage or dose regimen of the present invention is eventually expected to suppress emergence of the resistant bacterium resulting from the long-term use of the levofloxacin ophthalmic solution in the conventional dosage or dose regimen. In addition, it is confirmed that the levofloxacin ophthalmic solution in the dosage or dose regimen of the present invention directly inhibits the ocular-infection-causing bacterium such as Staphylococcus aureus from becoming resistant to levofloxacin, which results from the short-term use of the levofloxacin ophthalmic solution in the conventional dosage or dose regimen.

摘要: A strategy process used for recording data on an optical disk is also used during DC erase is performed. Effects similar to those obtained in the case, in which a high frequency signal is superposed on a laser diode output current during the DC erase, can be obtained by performing the strategy process on the laser diode output current during the DC erase. This eliminates the necessity for generating high-level and high-frequency signals. Consequently, an apparatus can be constructed at low cost.

摘要: In an optical disk recording device for irradiating a recording light beam onto an optical disk to form pits having lengths ranging from 3Ts to 11Ts (where T represents a length of a unit time period in a longitudinal direction of a pit track), a sample and hold circuit samples and holds levels of a reflection signal, representative of a reflection of the recording light beam from the optical disk, for a predetermined time period between points of 1T and 3Ts after the start of a rising edge of the reflection signal. Comparator circuit makes a comparison between the sampled and held levels of the reflection signal and a predetermined reference level. Automatic laser power control circuit controls the power of the recording light beam on the basis of a result of the comparison by the comparator circuit. With such an arrangement, the recording power of the light beam can be controlled promptly with increased accuracy.

摘要: An alignment error measurement pattern includes a plurality of wiring patterns and a plurality of opening patterns formed in an insulating film covering the wiring patterns. The edges of the wiring patterns and the opening patterns correspond to each other to constitute sets, and distances between them are all different from one set to another. Corresponding wiring pattern and opening pattern in the same set are or are not in contact with each other depending on the alignment error between them. Therefore, the alignment error between the wiring pattern and the opening pattern can be electrically measured by checking the conduction state between them. Hence, an alignment error of a semiconductor device can be measured at high precision, and easily even after the manufacture.
