For each of the monitoring patterns, monitoring the down-link in accordance with the monitoring pattern comprises monitoring the down-link only when a monitoring opportunity of the monitoring pattern is concurrent with a scheduled active interval of a C-DRX configuration of the UE (105). For any C-DRX cycle of the C-DRX configuration, the monitoring of the downlink in accordance with the power saving monitoring pattern has a shorter monitoring duration than the monitoring of the downlink in accordance with the C-DRX monitoring pattern. The UE (105) correspondingly receives the power saving signal and switches how it monitors the downlink accordingly.
