The method comprises the steps of: a. providing a first network of fibers having a first and a second side, each fiber of the first network of fibers having a longitudinal axis generally disposed within the plane comprising the machine- and cross-machine-directions; b. applying a first bonding layer in a first pattern to one of the first and second sides of the first network of fibers; and, c. applying a first second network of fibers to the first bonding layer, the first second network of fibers comprising a combination of a first plurality of fibers and a second plurality of fibers. Each fiber of the first network of fibers having a longitudinal axis generally disposed within the plane comprising the machine and cross-machine directions, and each individual fiber of the second network of fibers having a longitudinal axis having a component thereof generally disposed in the Z-direction and an average length at least about 20% greater than fibers comprising the first network of fibers.

A gravure printing system comprising a gravure cylinder having a first plurality of discrete cells disposed upon an outer surface thereof is disclosed. Each cell of said first plurality of discrete cells has a nominal diameter and is capable of receiving a fluid that is a first combination of at least two primary fluids. The fluid is fluidically displaceable through a discrete channel having a single entry point at said first position and a single exit point into a first cell of said first plurality of discrete cells. The outer surface has a metal plating disposed thereon. The metal plating reduces the nominal diameter of each cell of the first plurality of discrete cells.
