Abstract:
Data characterizing the presence state of a user registered to use a communication service is sent to a server for the management of presence data in order to update presence data allocated to the user of a communication service. The data sent to the server is stored as presence data allocated to the user and is made available for predefinable other users. Authorization to change presence data is given to another selected user upon user release.
Abstract:
A method for the user-based processing of electronic messages comprising file attachments is provided. According to the method, a file attachment of an electronic message is replaced by a memory location link to a selected memory location in a user file system and the file attachment of the electronic message is saved in the selected memory location of the user file system. This permits the memory capacity that is required for storing data attachments to be significantly reduced in a user-friendly system.
Abstract:
The present application relates to a method and a communication system with which participants of a scheduled meeting, in particular a business meeting or conference, can be reached by a telephone caller without the caller needing to know the telephone number of the participants. Conventionally, the caller who does not have available the corresponding number must obtain said number by calling a telephone switchboard or by searching in an electronic address book. This disadvantage is overcome by the subject matter of the application by the fact that a connection to a meeting participant, preferably the organizer of the meeting, is established using only the telephone number of the caller. For this purpose, the caller is identified by the caller's telephone number, and thereafter an address book is examined to determine whether the caller is a participant in a meeting. If yes, the organizer of the meeting or the organizer's telephone number is obtained, and the connection to the telephone number thus obtained is forwarded on.
Abstract:
The conference system (KS) comprises at least two mobile terminals (M1, M2, M3) with a respective signalling apparatus which contains a sensor which detects motion by the signalling apparatus and outputs a corresponding motion signal. In addition, it contains a motion signal processing apparatus which associates the motion signal from a gesture in nonverbal interhuman communication with a motion signal pattern and, as a result of an association having been made, produces an output signal with a corresponding piece of information about the type of detected gesture in the nonverbal interhuman communication. Furthermore, the conference system (KS) contains a transmission apparatus for supplying the output signal to a transmission channel (F1, F2, F3) which is respectively connected to a local area network (LAN). The latter has a telephone, preferably an IP telephone (11), for a moderator and also a screen (U1) for conference control connected to it. Furthermore, an associated signalling method is proposed.

Abstract:
There is described a method, a system and a terminal for occupying a key and a display field, which is associated with the key, of a first end device of a first subscriber. An address identifies the second end device of a second subscriber, following user input of the first subscriber. The detected address is assigned to the key as a target address for setting up a future connection. Associated subscriber information is determined for the detected address, and the determined subscriber information is assigned to the display field.
Abstract:
There is described a method, a terminal device, and a communication system for programming a button of a communication terminal device whereby a user input on the communication terminal device activates an application on a data processing device associated with the communication terminal device. The activated application triggers the display of button programming information for selection for a respective button programming. The selection of one of the displayed button programming information messages on the data processing device triggers the assignment of the associated button programming to the button on the communication terminal device.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for providing communication, comprising a plurality of communication subscribers, comprising at least one first piece of address information associated with a first communication subscriber, a second and at least one third piece of address information associated with at least a second communication subscriber and a fourth piece of address information associated with a central control function, wherein in the event of a failure of a first connection attempt made to a second communication subscriber by a communication subscriber determined by the first piece of address information while using the second piece of address information, during a second attempt at a connection following the failure by the first communication subscriber determined by the first piece of address information to the central control function determined by the fourth piece of address information, the control function initiates the forwarding of the second connection to the second communication subscriber while using the third piece of address information. The invention further relates to a communication system for carrying out the method.

Abstract:
Method and module for the direct dialing from a first subscriber with a first terminal (1) in a telephone system (20a) to a second subscriber with a number of terminals from which at least one is connected outside the telephone system (20a) in which case availability information (14) about the second subscriber is requested by an availability service (24) that is connected outside the telephone system (20a) and at least parts of the availability information (14) are made accessible to the first subscriber at the first terminal (1) allocated to a direct dialing function (11, 12, 15) in order to set up a connection attempt to the connection of the second subscriber that has the highest probability of success in view of the availability information.
