    摘要: The present invention relates to a thermal transfer image-receiving sheet including a dye receiving layer which contains a resin (A) including a graft polymer containing a main chain segment (A1) formed of a polyester resin having an acid value of from 5 to 40 mgKOH/g and a side chain segment (A2) formed of an addition polymer-based resin, wherein the segment (A1) is obtained by polycondensing an alcohol component containing an alkyleneoxide adduct of 2,2-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)propane in an amount of 60 mol % or more with a carboxylic acid component, and the segment (A2) contains a constitutional unit derived from an aromatic group-containing addition-polymerizable monomer in an amount of 85% by weight or more.

    摘要: The image forming apparatus includes an image bearing member; a transfer belt used to transfer a toner image from the image bearing member to a transfer material; a transfer unit adapted to form a transfer nip in conjunction with the image bearing member through the transfer belt; and a control part adapted to control a rotation direction of the transfer belt, wherein in a cleaning mode, the control part rotates the transfer belt in a direction opposite to the rotation direction of the transfer belt during image formation at least by an amount equal to or larger than width of the transfer nip in the rotation direction of the transfer belt. This prevents foreign material from being trapped between the transfer belt such as an intermediate transfer belt or transfer material conveyance belt and a sheet member and thereby reduces density irregularities in a longitudinal direction of the belt.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a resin for use in a thermal transfer image-receiving sheet which is excellent in dyeability with dyes and releasability of the sheet, a resin dispersion using the resin, and a thermal transfer image-receiving sheet. The resin for a thermal transfer image-receiving sheet is obtained by addition polymerizing and condensation polymerizing (a) raw monomers of a polyester, (b) a raw monomer of an addition polymer-based resin containing at least one compound selected from the group consisting of styrene and styrene derivatives and (c) at least one dually reactive monomer selected from the group consisting of acrylic acid, methacrylic acid and derivatives of these acids, wherein the raw monomers (a) of a polyester include an alcohol component containing 80 mol % or more of an alkyleneoxide adduct of 2,2-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)propane.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a resin emulsion being produced by neutralizing a resin binder containing acid group with a basic compound in an aqueous medium wherein the resin binder containing acid group contains a polyester produced from a raw monomer composition containing a trivalent or higher-valent polyhydric alcohol in an amount of 1 to 15 mol %; a process for producing the resin emulsion; and a toner for electrophotography using the resin emulsion. In the resin emulsion of the present invention, a resin is readily emulsified therein even when using a crosslinked polyester as the resin, and the resin emulsion is substantially free from hydrolysis of the resin and can produce a toner having an excellent heat-resistant storage property.

    摘要: A method of refining molten metal includes the steps of reduced-pressure-refining molten metal in a heated vessel, adding slag-forming agents into the refined molten metal while keeping the molten metal in the vessel, or after pouring the molten metal into another vessel, re-refining the molten metal by heating the molten metal with inert-gas plasma and while stirring the molten metal as occasion demands. Preferably, the refining apparatus includes two adjacent chambers, each chamber isolated from the surrounding atmosphere. The chambers can be connected with, or separated from, each other and each chamber is provided with an exhaust device. One of the chambers is provided with an induction heating refining furnace, and the other chamber is provided with inert gas plasma heater. The apparatus also includes a re-refining vessel which is transferable between the two chambers, and a material feeder for feeding slag-forming agents into the re-refining vessel.
