摘要： A video encoding apparatus is provided with a resolution converting section, an encoding section, and a transmitting section. The resolution converting section enlarges or reduces a binary picture which represents the shape of an object. The encoding section encodes a binary picture reduced by the resolution converting section. 摘要： In an image data coding and/or decoding system, a coding system performs the two-dimensional orthogonal transform of picture signals of all the pixels with respect to inside blocks and of only picture signals of pixels contained in a content with respect to edge blocks, in accordance with a map signal indicative of the position and shape of the content, and it codes the map signal. A decoding system selects an orthogonal transform coefficient necessary to reproduce an image of a desired resolution, from coded orthogonal coefficients on the basis of a coded and resolution-transformed map signal, and it performs the two-dimensional inverse orthogonal transform of all the coefficients with respect to the inside blocks and of only the coefficients contained in the content with respect to the edge blocks, to derive a resolution-transformed regenerative signal.

摘要： Methods and systems consistent with this invention decode image data. Such methods and systems decode a coded map signal indicative of the position and shape of a content in a screen inputted for every square block of picture signals, perform the resolution transform of the decoded map signal, decode coded orthogonal transform coefficients, perform the two-dimensional inverse orthogonal transform of the orthogonal transform coefficients, and derive a regenerative picture signal by taking out the values of pixels inside of the content from the results of the two-dimensional inverse orthogonal transform based on the resolution-transformed map signal, with respect to the blocks containing the boundary portion of the content.

An input unit inputs additional partial image data, and attribute data representing a corresponding relationship of at least part of the image data to the additional partial image data. An associating unit associates the additional partial image data with an individual data of the image data, using the attribute data input via the input unit. A synthesizing unit modifies a data content regarding at least part of the image data, which is associated by the associating unit, and synthesizes the modified content with the image data stored in the image storing unit.
