Abstract: A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are described in which a network allocation service is provided. The network allocation service may use available network resource information of an application service layer network of a first type, such as a multi-access edge computing network, and application service demand information of an application to determine whether a performance metric of the application service would be satisfied. The performance metric may include a threshold service time that includes a processing time associated with a processing of an application service request and response, by the application service layer network, and a transit time associated the application service response from the application service layer network to an end device. The network allocation service may select the first type or a second type of application service layer network depending on the outcome of the determination.

Abstract: Methods, devices, and computer-readable mediums may provide receiving, at a request to establish an access and mobility (AM) policy control association in relation to an establishment of a data session requested by a user associated with a user equipment (UE) device; generating a query to a network device via a network interface, for AM policy control data and for at least one of UE policy control data or session management (SM) policy control data; receiving the AM policy control data and the at least one of the UE policy control data or the SM policy control data from the network device, creating the AM policy control association based on the received AM policy control data; and storing the at least one of the UE policy control data or the SM policy control data.

Abstract: A system includes one or more devices that include a memory to store instructions and one or more processors to execute the instructions. The devices include an updated network function (NF) service producer that includes a recent update, wherein the NF service producer is configured to register at a Network Repository Function (NRF) using a Network Function profile (NF profile), wherein the NF profile indicates a Network Function type (NF type) and Application Programming Interface versions. The devices further include a network function (NF) service consumer configured to: receive a message from a network component; determine to engage a service of a NF service producer of the NF type based on the message; and send a discovery request to the NRF in response to the message, wherein the message includes search criteria that specify a version field extended with an operator dependent version field.

Abstract: Systems and methods enable a wireless station in a radio access network to apply slice-based admission control. A wireless station receives, from a core network, network slice data for each network slice available via the wireless station, wherein the network slice data includes a slice identifier and corresponding slice status for each network slice; and receives, from a user equipment (UE) device, a service request that indicates a network slice identifier previously assigned to the UE device. The wireless station applies, based on the network slice data from the core network and the network slice identifier from the UE device, admission controls to forward the service request to the core network when the one of the network slices, corresponding to the network slice identifier, is not congested, and delay or redirect the service request when the one of the network slices, corresponding to the network slice identifier, is congested.
